I'm still in two-minds about selling - as I do enjoy owning it but personal sitations, plus the current economic climate means I could do without having a load of cash tied up in an asset I'm not really using as often as I should.

It won't be replaced immediately....car market is probably going to go through the wringer over the next few months....but I do miss my old Evora. I could harp on about those cars all day. It just does everything so well, I'm struggling to find anything else that ticks the boxes like that does, as I'm sure @mik 's long ownership will attest to.

Problem is I have a rule about never owning a car I've owned before - certainly not a similar series - so that pushes me into the 400, which are outside of my comfortable budget so I'll see what happens next year, especially with the Emira launch. Will people still be spending £60k on an Evora 400/410 when the Emira isn't much more? (albeit with a long waiting list)

It works. I’m hoping auto metal does indeed add guitars to everything 😎

Goddammit... Bloody pigeons. I thought we had a deal with them whereby they get out of the way of cars when they're picking about in the middle of the road? They have wings and can fly after all.

Anyone like to guess how much a single piece of moulded plastic will cost? I'm going to say £350....

@Ascender - oops. I think you are in the ballpark. Anything aftermarket that still looks good and would do the job?

I'll have a look today and see. I suspect most aftermarket grilles will be anything less than subtle and maybe even have those three painted M vertical stripes!

I even considered gluing the struts back in but only seem to have one here...

Maybe the other one is inside the pigeon?

Of course it does, it's a 90's Alpine, built like tanks. I had a similar model that from memory just didn't have the Bi-metal function. Swapped it for a Sony (had CD-changer controls) that got blown up and then I had to buy a new one.

Your video reminds me - you are going to have scuffs and scratches on the ventilation controls before long. Thank god for the switch to removeable faceplates

Pull-out head units were around long before then ;)

My dad's BX GT Digit ('86) came with a Pioneer pull-out. Sounded insanely good as well.

If I ever get it back on the road I will make a point of parking outside a swanky wine bar and having my pull out alpine stereo on prominent display on the table next to my giant brick mobile phone 😎

I'll have to dig some of mine out and ebay them, as I can't ever see them getting used now.

I've got all sorts of Kenwood and Alpine stuff knocking about somewhere.

Always interested in alpine stuff if you find any ;)
Would like a Kenwood 7050 or 9050 if you find one lurking…

I think it may all be a bit new for you unfortunately.

I've got 2, or maybe 3 W808 and W707 DMasks, I'd have more but Royal Mail lost one I sent out, and they lost a Double Din Nav Ke wood unit someone sent to me as well

I think I may have a couple of Sony BT units knocking about and my twin Kicker Solobarics and Rockford Fosgate Amps are in one of my Dads sheds, the elements may have done for those by now I suspect!

Shame its so in depth to mess with ICE now!

Mid 90s to early 2000s is generally what I’m most interested in, after that the whole modified car thing seemed to be turning into who could have the most filler stuck to their base model hatchback rather than any performance tuning at all, at the same time as I started growing up a bit.

I really want one of the alpine add on processors / equalisers like a 3342 or g320, but they’re stupidly rare in the uk, and expensive everywhere.

Some fecker's dragged something across the A2 derv's bootlid, scratching it and putting a scratch and depression under the four rings logo - right where it catches your eye. While it is a bit London-weary (and needing a wash, but that's why the new marks stood out as clean bits), it doesn't mean people can ngaf - but then the day someone gaf is the day my car gets hit by a flying pig. On a better note, it'd sat a while while Covid lingered, started up fine with the battery seeming as full of life as it's ever been, which was nice.
