The Cornishman have significantly improved their offering, but out of season the Albion has better food (but is overdue a refurb). We normally go to C-bay rather than the Bowgie of in Pentire.
I’m surprised C-Bay hasn’t become a cars
and coffee type venue - Chris Harris’ best mate owns it (he frequently posts on social media from there) and the owners of Rally Prep live that way.

Its certainly got the views. Car park is a bit ropey for supercars. Incidentally the lower car park of the Bowgie has some brilliant car gatherings there in the past. You get fined after 5 mins for not buying a ticket now - they've even put in bollards so nothing wider than a car can go there. The local sign maker must have been busy with all their do this and dont do that demanding signs all over

After a 6 hour drive home I can report its even more rainy and greyer - decent journey for a friday.

My fave stop off @ M5 gloucester services is utter pony these days - the breakfast is consistently cold and expensive and slow. Shame as it started off so well.

Mini made it back from cornwall and seems to be seeping more oil - booked in for fixing - I thought I would not bother but sitting looking at a plume of smoke in traffic isnt so cool.

Picked up my car, all fixed, paid for by lady who bashed it - also sprayed front wheel arch inside which had some rust appearing.

Yesterday was spent battling the Cayenne to change the inner CV boot and do the upper wishbone & top mount “while I’m there” because I just love making my life difficult.

Empty wheel arches always look weird.

The 4C failed the MOT front discs were absolutely shot, so both disks and pads needed to be replaced. Not exactly cheap at £800, add on an AC regas (that needs to remove the front), and a major-ish service left me with something of a....reasonably sized bill.

I'm putting it up for sale soon - so if anyone is after a 4C with fresh service, 13months MOT and a few essential upgrades....you know where to find me.

Zoe went for an MOT. Zoe got an MOT. Nothing much more to say. Advisory on the O/S front damper as the gaiter is split, but nothing that requires fixing right now. They didn't have the part in stock anyway, so would have to be scheduled in later.

The 6 series started leaking coolant again. It started off pretty gradually. Just needed 2 litres per 1000 miles. Then today I decided to commute with it and visit my mechanic to get his opinion and book it in. Well its coolant leak went to 8 litres per 30 mins and then by the time I was returning home it was 1 litre per minute . I apologise to the chap on a pretty new Ducati who wasn’t happy with getting sprayed.
Anyway I was vindicated as my mechanic said it must be the coolant pipe as it’s the only thing left. Booked it in for some bushes too. And then I can refurb one of the wheels which I cunted on a kerb.

Whilst there the Mito needed 4 new tyres, mechanic was gushing over these new Falken FK520s so ordered a set of those too. The current set of Falkens on it have done 50,000 miles and 12 years with no perishing but that’s probably more due to pootling around London at 5mph and always being parked underground. Then again the PS4S on the 6 series are now cracking and dry rotting despite being 3 years old and also almost always parked in a garage.
I also booked the Mito in for a new cam belt and water pump as the current one is 9 years old so a little overdue.

Once that lot is all done that should be the major expenditure out of the way for another few years.

Audi went over 50,000 miles on Wednesday. I've had an e-mail through today offering a service plan - the next minor and major services covered for £600 though that doesn't include anything other than the basic scheduled stuff - no gearbox oil service, no brake pads/disks etc. It's much cheaper than paying per service; the question is whether I'll keep the car for ~35,000 more miles to use them both. Think I probably will to be honest.

I may well keep an eye open for any discounts on service packs though; it might be good value for main dealer servicing but that doesn't mean it couldn't be better value...

Frustrating few days with the 928. Couldn't fit the front spoiler as I didn't have the required bumper clips at the front. Rose Passion's website has parts broken down by the PET manual section and it helpfully gives you quantities for everything. I ordered everything in the front spoiler section, but annoyingly Porsche decided to include these clips under the front bumper section. Clips ordered and should be with me next week.

Got a call from Strasse while it was in for the engine mounts to say one of the new mounts I supplied was leaking fluid. e-mail sent to 928srus for resolution.

On the plus side, my Belt Tensioner warning light was just a bad earth on the tensioner sensor, so that's all good.

Didn't realise 928 mounts were hydraulic. Quick check reveals that the ones on my 944 were too.... I was similarly unaware.

That looks fabulous from that angle. What's prompted the change this time and what are you looking for?

New battery delivered. Engine *definitely* turns over faster before catching so that was a necessity.

Next job - front control arm trailing bushes. I think I'll try to arrange that for next weekend.

A bit more than a year. Though I'd obviously need to keep it for a while longer to benefit - if I kept it a further year I'd only do one service in that time...

Popped to a local retro car meet and spotted someone with a pretty cool old alpine stereo for sale. Had to hide my smile when he said it was £30

1989 pull out model with cage, has a pre out so I can bypass the weedy internal amp and use an external dab tuner to control multiple inputs.

Will look perfect in the 1989 e30 (eventually… )



It’s in amazing condition, just a shame it’s lost the cover off the bass slider lever. I need to invest in a 3D printer.

I like the idea of auto metal, does it speed the music up and add extra guitars?
