Trump's choosing Robert Kennedy Junior to be health secretary is next level batshit. Some of the things he's claimed/believes are :-

1. Antidepressants cause school shootings
2. Wifi causes cancer
3. Has repeatedly said vaccines don't work and cause autism.
4. Tap water can turn children gay or transgender.

In short, he's a fucking mentalist.

I wonder whether (and I'll note at this point that I'm about to credit Trump with far more intelligence than I believe he really has) - but I wonder whether he's nominating the most out there batshit mental appointments, knowing that there's a good chance they're too extreme for even a few Reps to back in Congress and hence won't be approved (or whatever the term is). Thereby enabling him to then nominate who he really wants and who suddenly seem considerably more palatable to the party.

Nah this deregulation is what they want. They’re planning a smash and grab on the public coffers and don’t want anyone to see.

I thought he was on about the contraceptive pill which was doing odd things to fish but seems like RFK is on about something entirely different.
Remember it used to be a big issue over there? Then it all went quiet

The only "skill" I see Trump deploying effectively is disruption. And all this appears to be more of the same.

I'm sure he is. But even Reps are doubting that the likes of Gaetz will get approved. Hence my idle thinking. Like I said though, I'm probably crediting Trump with too much nouse

I saw something the other day about putting Congress into recess and some arcane law that means the president can appoint who they want in this period...

Sounds like the process was used liberally until Obama was in power. The difference being the inference that Trump will put them in recess in order to use the power.

Getting folk like Gaetz and the templar weirdo appointed (or not) would be a decent signifier of how far down the drain the gop is.

I’m not expecting much, some very influential people have spent a lot of money behind the scenes to get to this point.

I know in 2020 South Staffs we’re dealing with something saying that microplastics and other chemicals in drinking water was possibly a cause for the use in estrogen in men.

No idea what the study was about but it was an issue they were dealing with.

It’s the internet, I don’t believe a bloody thing from any side now 😂

Assuming it’s not a troll account, 80 hours a week!

This account is verified because it is a government or multilateral organisation account.
Of course it's real. And that kind of attitude worked so well at Twitter, as you can tell by everyone working out who they can follow on BlueSky

And while firing everyone who won’t work 80 hours per week at twitter was possible, it’s not going to fly in government departments.

I was actually pondering this the other day. When running a business, getting rid of people that don’t pull their weight is OK. They seem to be trying to apply this to a nation.

Getting rid of citizens who are deemed to be not useful…. well….

Sounds familiar, but I can't think where from.

I'm sure it doesn't matter.

Will Donald’s voters ever be like:

(Mitchell seems to be doing OK but I bet Webb wishes he was getting royalties from this meme)

(Also, this was the opening sketch from episode 1 season 1 of Mitchell & Webb. Talk about hitting the ground running.)

Victor Willis, writer & singer of “YMCA” is saying that his wife will sue anyone that calls it a gay anthem.

He also said:

"There’s been a lot of talk, especially of late, that Y.M.C.A. is somehow a gay anthem," Willis wrote. "As I’ve said numerous times in the past, that is a false assumption based on the fact that my writing partner was gay, and some (not all) of Village People were gay, and that the first Village People album was totally about gay life."

What’s this got to do with Donald ?

He explained:

"Y.M.C.A. has benefited greatly from use by the President-elect," Willis wrote. "For example, Y.M.C.A. was stuck at #2 on the Billboard chart prior to the President-elect’s use. However, the song finally made it to #1 on a Billboard chart after over 45 years (and held on to #1 for two weeks) due to the President-elect’s use.“

And

He added that the track is "estimated to gross several million dollars" since Trump's use of it began. "Therefore, I’m glad I allowed the President-elect’s continued use of Y.M.C.A. And I thank him for choosing to use my song."

Ahhhh.

So I can’t decide whether he’s trolling Donald to keep dancing to YMCA (doing his trademark dance that totally looks like he’s wanking off two guys at once) because it’s DEFINITELY NOT GAY, or if he just has no conscience about Donald’s plans for black/gay/minority people in the US and is focussed on keeping the money rolling in.
