Having bought a ragtop, it's rained more than it's shone lately.
I've just bought and applied some more RainX. So expect weeks of glorious sunshine, peeps

I know they've been mentioned earlier but I absolutely love those alloy wheels

I’m 50/50 on the wheels at the moment, something less fussy perhaps.

They must look better on the other side of the car where they are going the right way...

I love those wheels on it. They look exactly the right period for the car; the ones you had on it before (similar style to the Ur-Quattro, IIRC?) didn't suit it quite so well.

JIC, the car looks great Nic. Is that it finished for the moment?

Another +1. They suit the Golf.

Been very pleased with the improvement to the car the PSE added when I retrofitted it around 18 months ago... but well, the temptation is always for moaar and louder isn't it
Just booked it in at Hayward & Scott in a couple of week's time for the centre silencer delete & replacement with stainless crossover pipes which is very popular with the 997 GTS crowd. Mulled over whether it was worth it to go for the Sharkwerks pipes but with import taxes etc. they're essentially 2x the cost for no tangible benefit, so H&S it is.
Think the last vid I posted with pre-PSE so will need to post a before & after with this new set up - can't wait now

Guess you won’t be tracking the car then.
Teh centre silencer bypass still retains the PSE side cans so will have a quiet mode for appeasing neighbours and track use

Thanks, wasn’t expecting it to go down so well.
Yes I think it’s pretty much finished now. At some point it needs a steering rack rebuild, im tempted with a quaiffe quick rack but it might make it too twitchy.
Possibly better front brake calipers, currently running G60 calipers and perhaps a switch to 4 pot AP brakes or similar would be a good idea.

Are they Ronal wheels? Love them (keep them!) and the decals look great too. Are they just for Retro Rides? Take plenty of photos there please

That looked like immense fun while it was running - what went wrong, we need to talk you out of selling it...
Never raced or rallied, just for JL, yes the best fun ever, what maybe isn’t obvious is that I was hitting the hard limiter twice a lap there, and it’s geared to 142mph..
the cars an absolute weapon!
Oh and I was on road tyres in that race, everyone else was on slicks, I couldn’t get th slicks switched on in qualifying, later discovered they were an endurance compound.
888R’s for the win, although near the end they start to go off a bit
110 ish is my terminal before braking for duffas. Lasted in the session the closing speed on the Cooper s is pretty impressive.

I didn't even realise BBS made body kits. Trés cool
