I hadn't looked at the cyclops before - that's ungainly isn't it? I like a cyclops but not that one.

My dracula Monster doesn't have a cyclops at all. The colour scheme of mine limits when you'd wear it; I prefer the black bezel and blue face of that one - and the rectangular rather than tooth-shaped hour markers. But overall it's just a Monster, which is a nice enough watch but I don't quite get the passion it inspires in others.

The not-quite-black (mole?) bezel really makes it work for me. You can pick one up for around £280 new on ebay - I'm still tempted to get one and carry out a cyclops removal..... have watched a few choob vids now and it seems to be easy enough despite being a "take a deep breath" moment. :?

As Monsters go, it's a nice one and I'm sure the cyclops can be removed... or you can get a replacement plain sapphire crystal if it goes badly.

I have a suspicion that the bezel is just anodised so will scratch up. I had a bit of a thing for the limited edition blue bezel Monster when I got mine; that will definitely show the scratches because the bezel stands proud.

Just to add - the black bezel is nice but an all-black Monster is even more appealing: https://www.creationwatches.com/product ... 19891.html

I don't plan to buy any more watches but if I did, and I felt very flush, I'd like a Blaken: https://www.blaken.com/en/individual
Having recently worn my Orient Raven Ray I realised that I like a black watch.

ETA: here's a Datejust which I've customised with blue highlights. Looks fab to me.

Had been wearing my Chris Ward C1000 for about 5 days when it suddenly gained a load of time overnight. :?

Image.

Swapped watches, reset the time on the C1000 and checked it over the next day - it was running fast by nearly 2 seconds per minute. :? Which isn't ideal. :geek:

A quick google search suggested the Valjoux 7750 mech had either become magnetised, or something else was affecting the clock spring. Downloaded the (free) "Lepsi" app for the phone, and (once I'd gone through the setup process) it suggested that the watch was indeed magnetised. So I then purchased a £12 demagnetiser thingamyjigger online and used it to - y'know - demagnetise the watch.

It's back to losing about 2secs per day. Phew. Back on my wrist to check it for another day or two.

If it misbehaves again I'll just send it down to Simon at Milek & Co. It was bought new early 2017, so probably due a service in the not too distant future anyway.

Don't hog all the glory. My watch charges itself through my wrist movement... (It is on my left wrist, I'm right-handed. Just before someone suggests something unseemly).

I was given a Moonswatch Mission to Saturn for Christmas. Wearing it now. I rather like it.

I got some PolyWatch as my Timex got quite scratched up recently

Haven't been able to use it yet, but I've read really good things about it

Will report back...

If I could buy one online the Saturn would be my choice.

My wife had a friend buy it in Edinburgh for her, and I think she was lucky. I’d forgotten about them because of the difficulty of buying anyway so I’m chuffed to get one.

I still quite fancy one of these, despite all the nay-sayers about them scratching up too easily. Be interested to hear a normals opinion.

@Jobbo I think Mercury is my fave, but would need to look at them again properly in the plastic. I saw them all together at the Swatch shop in Zurich Airport, but it was pretty rushed.

Saturn is nice too - copper tones.

I don’t want one, but what @tim said in terms of your experience with scratching.

I have only worn it today. It feels like the glass (plastic) would scratch as easily as any other Swatch. Case feels lightweight but not as soft as the glass.

It has no lume, no date and is quite hard to see the hands against the dial so it’s not an everyday wear for me. It is by no means a cut-price actual Speedmaster. I like it, but I doubt I’d have bought one myself if I’d got to try it on.

I like them, but then I like the normal plastic swatches so see it more like a swatch+ than a cut price omega.
