Here's an oddity. Looks pricey at over £50k for a two year old Merc GLC, but it's a 400d. Which has never appeared on the price lists in the UK, and in fact there was never any 6-cyl diesel after the facelift: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 5065407522
RHD, spec doesn't look that weird (appears to be Premium Plus except that it's on 19"s) so could it have been brought in to try the market? It has a CO2 figure registered with the DVLA.
ETA: googling has found this video with a bit more detail in the description. It wasn't available to buy new and was owned by Merc UK:

I've a 300d which is "adequate" in terms of performance - then there's a big jump to the 43 variants. The 400d spec would slot in nicely in-between
Edit - just watched the vid - some oddities. Mine's got 20" wheels so I wonder why they put 19's on what looks like a special. And the tailgate mechanism doesn't appear to the the electronic version. You could never close mine with a push. You'd have to use the button.

It's an M3 without wide arches.

Something very cool about the Alpinas, hope that it isn't diluted post takeover. Its an M3 without the nostril, what's not to like.
I read this week that on the F30/31 3-series, virtually none of the Alpina B3S Biturbos sold we’re specced with the Alpina-specific Lavalina leather. That’s such a shame. Makes the massive price premium over a 340i look silly.

I’d happily lose the arches to not have to put up with that hideous face.
How much difference is there between a B3 and an m340i? 40bhp could be sorted very easily - is there anything else?

I'm getting confused with the various Alpina b3 models - this one says 410bhp - is that right?

They share the S58 with the M3/4 but have a different turbo setup for more torque and less top end power.
Alpina suits the large cars such as the 5 and 7 (I will ignore the SUVs) but Im not sure how well it fits on smaller cars such as the 3 and the Z4.

I’d pick the M3/4 every day over the Alpina. There’s a few companies doing various grill fixes for it now.

The current B3 (which that is) has 462bhp, and even the F30/31 generation B3S had 434bhp. I assume the earlier B3 version of the F30 had 410hp and that's what has auto-populated.
ETA: the B3 F30 had 404bhp, so maybe whoever typed it in just guessed

It starts to make a bit more sense with a proper S code engine rather than a tuned 340 engine, but it's still too much money and too dull looking for me (I've never particularly liked the typical Alpina treatment - straight front splitter, spokes and a few graphics).
