I guess people will want to see if it actually works. I suspect the advantage is more in tyre life than out and out performance.

I guess as well, with suspension elements you need to put the safety questions to bed, if they just ran it in Melbourne and there was an issue it wouldn't go down well.

Who had Grosjean in the sweepstake to be the first person to have an actual crash? Oh, everybody.

I haven’t actually checked but I’m going to say no it doesn’t.Orange Cola wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:22 pm911 already does it.duncs500 wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:50 pm How long before the next track focused supercar has steering column adjustable toe angle?![]()

I think they might be looking to off set the additional tyre life with a more aggressive set up, it will at least give them options.NotoriousREV wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:10 pm I guess people will want to see if it actually works. It does. They actively alter the toe of the rear wheels under braking.NotoriousREV wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:27 pmI haven’t actually checked but I’m going to say no it doesn’t.Orange Cola wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:22 pm911 already does it.duncs500 wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:50 pm How long before the next track focused supercar has steering column adjustable toe angle?![]()

Re: No F1 thread?
Yeah, that’s not manually adjusting the toe angle via the steering column, is it? Which is what Duncs said.Orange Cola wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:28 pmIt does. You’re just being picky now
Point is altering toe angles is already out there.

To be fair, my 996 changed the front toe angle under braking. Until I changed the track rod ends.

It’s kind of like everything else in F1, needlessly over complicated because there’s so many rules banning development that even more time and money is spent circumventing them

How about not having a sig at all?

Re: No F1 thread?
Imagine if all the interesting stuff that got banned didn’t get banned and we now had decades of development on things like ground effects, active suspension, big fucking fans etc.

Pretty sure we’d have gone autonomous with the forces involved.

I wish Formula E was a full on autonomous series - would be amazing watching AI battling it out and an actual new motorsport which would help road car development.

Possibly revealed early to get the inevitable protests out of the wayMito Man wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:02 pm Their rear suspension is quite trick too.
I’m surprised they’ve revealed the steering for testing though, other teams may have it in a few races time. Should have just used it in Melbourne.
