I think I got that saying right :P
I have a similar habit of getting out of things at the wrong time.

Crypto currently 25 percent up.

How? if it’s sat “forgotten” in a wallet, they’d need to somehow know about that wallet, then they’d need all the details to access it/sell it?

I understand the desire, but how would it actually work? i obviously don’t know much about the mechanics of this, but if it’s only for wallets in some kind of exchange, then surely the exchange will email you a load of times before the date to warn you.

Otherwise, if the owner doesn’t even know about their wallets, how would anyone else know and sell them?

The technicalities I have no idea on.

It’s no different than losing your pot of gold in your house though and not finding it till you move.

It’s people wanting to steal imo and nothing more.

I suppose if it was an old account not linked to new emails anymore then they couldn’t contact you at all, u less the bank are obliged to contact you if they are still linked with the wallet ?

Make sure your crypto details are in your will/ trust.

Hey Dave, did you buy back into RR btw? 30 percent up from the trump dump. 😀

Crypto tends to be priced in USD so you've got to beat the slide in the dollar as well now. If you've got an unregulated gamble of an investment, always good to make sure you're exposed to currency risk on the side

Not sure I follow you there Simon? For example if I wanted to pull some Bitcoin out, I’d trade it directly for GBP then withdraw that. No need to get any USD involved.

No im all in on Dividends, once a payment comes in the end of July I think it’ll be just over £5 a day now in total. So well on track.

2 of my mates bought back in though and are doing very well.

But they're priced in USD, so if your Bitcoin is worth $10,000 then it's worth less in GBP now than it was a week ago.

Crypto is priced in whichever currency you choose to pair it with. My folio is is priced in GBP, for quite obvious reasons.

If bitcoin is trading for USD10,000 or GBP9,000 last week, that is equivalent to USB10,000 or GBP8,500 this week (hypothetical numbers). It's supposed to be a way of storing value independent of fiat currency yet it's only worth something when you change it into fiat - meaning the exchange rate is highly relevant.

You can see the effect; compare the price of BTC-GBP and BTC-USD, and contrast with the GBP-USD chart.

I fully understand all of that, I just don't understand why you think we have to 'beat' the USD value in the process of valuing our assets? I get that the media commonly refers to the USD value of BTC, and that watching the BTC/USD value would give a false impression of the current BTC/GBP value, however, BTC is not tied to USD in any way whatsoever. It's not like we have to convert it via USD, it can be traded with any other currency in the world as long as it's on the exchange you're using. All that matters for the purposes of my folio is the traded value of BTC/GBP.

USD is going down, USD is the major currency in which BTC and other crypto is traded - it seems to be going down relative to the GBP as the USD falls. Just an observation; you can explain it but unless you can beat it, you're exposed to currency risk even if your investment app denominates your holding in GBP.

Similar with my company (IBM) shares. All time high - excellent. Checks GBP:USD rate. Ah, maybe not quite so excellent.

I thought 500% was good, I’d make the same decision again but they done especially well in the last 6 months.

I was hoping the nuclear section would be further ahead to stop all these twatty wind farms and solar but alas no.

XRP are doing very well the last couple of weeks and seems to have stabilised.

All my shares have been doing really well in the last 6 months, even my TM1 is having a surge and looks to be getting some good news finally. Still massively down on that one sadly from initial investment but positive at least.
