Re: Trump
Like I said. Thinking. He's not keen on it.
Re: Trump
Just so you're clear on what you're debating (without making any normative judgment), trump has not been 'convicted' of any sexual related misdemeanours. Conviction is the successful prosecution of a a criminal charge. He has, however, been convicted of falsifying business records in relation to the hush money payments (though again, that was a novel case of a non-felony misdemeanor being tried as a felony).
The sexual assault cases were civil cases where he was pursued for monetary compensation and the burden of proof is >50% in those cases. He was also held not liable in respect of the rape allegation (again civil standard) but was for sexual assault.
Again, no normative judgment I'm just correcting the mistaken statements made above.

Okay so I've been digging into X today because I'm literally fascinated by this. One thing that's really curious is how Trump supporters were accusing Harris of taking action to ensure the democrats would never lose an election ever again, ensuring rebulicans would never take power again. Meanwhile Harris supporters were accusing Trump of wanting to never leave power. More or less shouting the same thing at each other.

Re: Trump
I really don't understand why they would lose so many votes compared to Biden in 2020... hmmmm let me think.

FFS the septics really are the worst, pity their choices have so much influence on their trading partners and allies.ZedLeg wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 7:35 pm It looks like a collapse in the dems numbers is at least partially responsible. Turnout was low in general but the dems lost 14 mil votes compared to 2 mil or so for trump.

My wife says that in some ways she prefers the US, because their racism is front and centre obvious, and so easier to avoid. In the UK the racism is much more subtle.Gavster wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:23 pm I really don't understand why they would lose so many votes compared to Biden in 2020... hmmmm let me think.
