to be honest,it's just highlighting how perfect the M2 is - small, fast, good looking, wide arches.

It's Italian, it's mental, it's crusty, it's vasty entertaining if you're not paying for the work.....

If we’re talking about shit design / ugly cars.......
Re: Harry’s Garage
Great video.
Menacing look and quite a performance bargain in the second hand market. I like it a lot.
Re: Harry’s Garage
Impressive 0-100mph time too!
My Suzuki was 7.? to 100, and that felt bonkers enough.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I like the glass roof, didn't realise they had that (or was it part of the £72k options?), and that it can be comparatively quiet
I don't know what spec tyres it was on but they didn't seem too bothered by the cold.

£2000 for carbon shift paddles

Re: Harry’s Garage
540Cs and 570GTs also look like mega value at 70-80k.
Is the reliability of these supposed to be any better than the 12C? They have passive dampers I believe (which caused a lot of problems on the 12C on account of the fluid being shared with the gearbox IIRC) which should have removed some of the complexity.

My memory is suggesting to me that Ferrari charged over £7k for the Tri-colour stripe on the 430 Stradale - but my memory is a sneaky bastard that can inflate such numbers....DaveE wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 10:18 am £2000 for carbon shift paddles

Re: Harry’s Garage
I did notionally think about these before opting for the 430, but there were enough varying reports of reliability to put me off. Big bills may be likely and dealerships response to the warranties are not consistent it seems.GG. wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 11:07 am 540Cs and 570GTs also look like mega value at 70-80k.

Seems like a classic example of maintenance costs not matching a depreciation curve!

Totally (although I think at least that stripe was paint rather than say a sticker)mik wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 11:13 amMy memory is suggesting to me that Ferrari charged over £7k for the Tri-colour stripe on the 430 Stradale - but my memory is a sneaky bastard that can inflate such numbers....DaveE wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 10:18 am £2000 for carbon shift paddles

Carbon trinkets must be a manufacturer's most profitable products
By comparison, I've been looking at getting some nice shift paddles for the 1 series and you can get genuine carbon ones for under £200
I'm not a fan of carbon trinkets/dressing though
It's actually been quite tricky find some non-carbon paddles!
Re: Harry’s Garage
Even £200 for paddles seems like much. The whole dash trim which runs across the Model 3 and centre console can be swapped to carbon for a little over £200 aftermarket.
Also alcantara is the other joke priced material. When I was having my Defender rooflining done in it my mechanic ordered a 10 metre roll of it from Italy for £100. OEM manufacturers act like it’s extracted from virgin unicorn semen and price it accordingly

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Harry’s Garage
There is a lot of Alcantara though that isn’t Alcantara, for £100 it can’t be genuine Alcantara. If you would ever notice the difference though is questionable.Mito Man wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 11:47 am Even £200 for paddles seems like much. Actual alcantara is only made by one company, but there’s 1000 other companies making the same product but just can’t use the name alcantara due to licensing.V8Granite wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:50 pmThere is a lot of Alcantara though that isn’t Alcantara, for £100 it can’t be genuine Alcantara. This type of sloppy religious punnery cannot be tolerated... especially not in your progressive part of our agglomeration of nations
