The Italy pen should have been re-taken too. France advanced before the kicker moved so the ref should have moved the kick spot forward 10m, re-set the kick clock and allowed the kicker to re-set.

Refereeing is usually pretty spot on but there's been more than one error so far in this tournament, perhaps a symptom of the new cohort of international refs bedding in ???

Ja - he actively flung his leg(s?) into the flag.

Either way, sounds like they cheated... I demand an immediate rematch.
Just watching it back and it does look like he hits the flag a split second before the grounding.

I didn’t watch that game - just saw the final kick on the highlights- such a shame - I often wonder how Italy manage to keep up the enthusiasm to stay in the 6N - a win would have been amazing for them.

So this kick should have been retaken, and they won against Scotland via a massively questionable no-try decision…. Not the best year for France!

The flag doesn't count anymore as touch but did up until 2014.

Even more bizarre is if a kicked ball hits a corner flag and bounces into play the ball is still live!

The ref bottled that kick, the rules are the penalty can't be charged down or appraoched and if it is the kicker gets to retake 10m further forward!

Italy were robbed.

Ah right. So that was a 10yo rule change. I wonder what they were on about then?

Been busy all weekend, managed to avoid the scores and watch the Eng vs Ire game this morning. Great game, can't help thinking that Ireland weren't at their best, but if was still great to see England showing a bit more ambition in attack.

Looks the Italy vs Scotland was also a good game, although it would have been nice for Scotland to go to Dublin with a realistic shout. I suspect that defeat will have dealt a heavy blow to their confidence in the last game.

Anyone watch the Wal v Fra match? Was brilliant for the neutral - tit for tat for much of the game, but France prevailed in the end. Lots of young talent on the field from both sides as well (as also in the Eng team) so the future looks bright. And that 40yd reverse pass from Le Garrec...!

I was busy all weekend, so games watched properly = 0.

I did however turn on the tellybox and find that game on - about 20secs before that pass was made. I couldn't work out what the 4uck had happened  until they showed the slomo  . Fabulous - and whilst he might not have known where it was going to the mm, I like to think he had a far better idea of it's target than Davies suggested 8-)

Yeah I think he had a fair idea, but also, over that distance, one of the other players would have had some chance to react if they were anticipating a long ball, which the French would.

For me Wal v Fra is always the one match I'll make sure I'm set for, because it tends to be the most entertaining.

Made to work for it which is right and proper. Scotland handling errors made it easier than it could have been but the defence was immense.

Happy with the Championship…

Fra Eng game was great to watch. England threw it away though - with 4mins left on the clock why would you kick it to the opposition when you're ahead but only by 1pt?

It was a great championship this year, so many fierce close games.

From an England perspective I'm happy with it as a building year, feel like Borthwick has shown enough progression that it's not time to start worrying.

I feel for Wales, they are obviously at the start of a new cycle. It is great for the game that Italy were competitive though.
