Watched it already. Harry shares my view of it - the hybrid stuff is what makes it such a good everyday car.
But it feels like he hasn’t got under its skin yet. I’ve done nearly 1100 miles so far and it’s great on the motorway but it’s also got some dynamic magic which makes you want to drive it enthusiastically.
I have given it full throttle now, but only very briefly and at relatively low revs. I don’t think I’ll ever wish for more power.
I do wonder if that's why they're doing more long term loaners of these just now or for extended road trips - everyone I've seen who has had one for a while seems to absolutely love it whereas a lot of the less positive reviews were from people who had them for shorter periods of time.
Are there any finance contributions from Sytner on these at the moment or no deals to be had? BMW seem to go from one extreme to the other with finance.
On there are deals, definitely. I think the social media negativity about the M5 Touring has hampered sales so they are openly showing new prices with discount at over £20k off - not sure if this link will work but if it does, change the sort order to monthly price and the cheapest is £95,462 against a new list (with just £500 alloys as an option) of £116,660:

I think that's also the reason for the long term loaners; they want a bit better social media profile for it. Joe Achilles has probably hindered that though with his lukewarm final report after 6 months.

I see what you mean, definitely deals to be had and that link brings up the other purple Sytner one straight away!
There's still some some very chunky monthly payments on those but I guess its a 100K car.
I'm still not sure what Joe Achilles thought the M5 Touring would be like compared to all the M3/M4s he's had, but 6 months wasn't long to have one at all.

I never read too much into "influencers" for stuff like this, their habits and opinions are more about engagement. I can't be bothered to watch too much of his (I need to stay awake), but his numbers for his EoT for the M5 looked low, for example so would make sense to move it on.
Not always a fan of red cars, but colour was nice on his.

It was a nice red. He put some awful wheels on though, and because he messed around with the spec last minute he ended up with black wheels which he didn’t like (and they do look rubbish on any colour M5), plus they cost him £375 extra

Yeah, I’m not paying £1600 a month or whatever it says. It helped that I had my Audi on HP so I’d mostly paid it off, which gave me a substantial deposit.

Any chance of a front pic @Jobbo ? I saw a dark coloured one from the front the other day and it looks so much better than silver/white/bright green etc. I'm guessing yours looks mega from the front.
I can’t get the interior photo to show but it’s Silverstone inside.
Lovely. Congratulations!
