Good point about internet.

I've already been scanning RIghtmove and found this for starters. Masses of storage / garage / workshop / studio / gallery space. And over 7 acres of pasture for parking other junk when all that's full up 🤣

If you find an appealing house, could your wife be persuaded to move? I’m assuming Gav would not be buying that until his property litigation is settled.

No. That is the one, minor, problem.

Technically not insurmountable but it would drastically impact my budget

If it's a relatively remote village not near a small town, it still might be a number of years until fibre to the premise arrives. If you're lucky, Gigaclear might be putting in fibre already...

I'm on ~75 mbps now. Previous place I lived was up to 8mbps when we got swapped over to the "faster" exchange

Sudbury is only about 15-20min away from me. I moved away from the coast where Jobbo spotted me years ago, and I'm near Lavenham now.

We really should organise a Suffolk meet at some point!

A friend of mine has owned an Ateca for several years now and he seems to really like it 👍
I assumed you were still a fair bit east of me rather than south 😅

Yes, broadband can be rather patchy. Adsl in our village was awful, but luckily were one of the first small villages to get fttp.

I guess starlink is the answer these days for more remote places, I don’t think it’s really much more than we pay for the bt stuff.

That’s a very good point about internet, the agent was unsure about the broadband speeds so I’ll need to push on that and dig a bit more. The place is just outside Hartest, so kinda halfway between Bury and Sudbury, it’s definitely in the small village category!

Suffolk meet would be cool :) even my place is London is only 1h15m from Sudbury, so I’m already fairly close.

As long as it wasn't headed too far east I'd be keen to muscle in on this... :) 1hr25min and fairly twisty looking route to Sudbury for me.

I’m probably closer than Gav but with the wonder that is fen roads, would probably take longer to get there 😂

Dave!

Sounds like Suffolk is the unoffical epicentre of evo now! I'll do a separate thread and we can work out where/when/what/who etc

My g/f lives in Rattlesden and she's got better fibre bb than me in Harleston!

How does that fit with all the Insta videos where you're dashing around shops and filming stuff? A bit more time needed if there's nothing on your doorstep like in that there London?

A mixture of both, most of the major supermarkets are within a 20 min drive of the new place, plus I'll be dropping into London on a weekly basis too (my oh lives quite central). If anything, it'll force me to be a little more organised with filming out of home!
