@Carlos it is definitely worth doing. Perhaps a sabbatical?

The oddest thing was getting over the "but I should be working" feeling. When I was travelling back in 2003 I was on sabbatical (effectivity), so still had a job to talk about, things to do, and some sense of a timescale.

Compared to when I moved here, it is has been much more relaxed and unstressed, which is no surprise as financially we're in a very different place, and by the time I'll start it will have been three and a bit months, not nearly a year. But, I could still feel myself sliding into the old mindset if I wasn't careful. I limited my job search hours to no more than two a day to avoid the doom scrolling, and also stayed on one platform only. Part of what I remember causing me issues and anxiety was trying to keep track across multiple platforms, and feeling I had to search them all every day.
