Just work to rule, no need for anything else. Laptop sounds good, just check their IT policy on meddling with their stuff first. Y'know, don't want to get in trouble before you start and all.

Do fuck all more than you need to to get to the end, then forget about the shitbags and move on. Waste no time worrying about what happens when you've left. That's their problem.

I'm more still reeling from the surreality of it all.

I didn't understand a word of that.

When working notice, if they've been cunts then you do the bare minimum, take any holiday accrued and basically use the opportunity to expose all the issues you've been covering up for them. You owe them nothing more.

My back is manageable at the moment.

Apparently we're looking to remove some E1 links from our switch soon.

I was asked to look into how to do that.

What the timescale?

Months.

Cool, put a ticket into the vendor closer to the time and get someone else to do it, cos I won't be here.

On brand for my current employer - we were paid early by accident.

Also, I think the fact that next payday, I'm gone, has kicked in with some of the more senior staff.

... About fucking time

I could write a fucking book.

I'll probabky need therapy first though, and that's not a joke; I realised the other day that I wasn't continuously, low level furious. For the first time in years.

That's how bad the place is.

As a counter to the good times, my toilet/outside drains are blocked.

Only place locally I can find is £225 for the first hour.

Ouch.

Oh well, couldn't have a run of good luck that lasts forever, and having a crap is a fairly nice thing to be able to do....

Do you own the place? If not what did your landlord suggest?

If it's outside the house Welsh Water usually clear it for free. So call whoever the English equivalent is.

Landlord is fine with paying for it, but he's out of the country. I've sent him the reciept, it'll be fine. Just the sort of thing that has it happened three months ago, would have caused me to melt down from the stress.

Instead, I had a great time talking shit (literally) with the guy, looking at his high pressure pumps etc. Good older guy, reminded me of the regulars down at Scarborough harbour

There are definitely issues with the drains though, we had to tap into the neighbours drain/out flow, he popped out to let us know that he's got beef with Yorkshire water because the drains we share have been fucked before, but last time, he got the short end of the stick. And they took three days to look at it (luckily for him, it wasn't his bog backing up, just kitchen appliances)

So neighbour is going to raise merry hell on my behalf :)

For a split second I though that was a local recipe I'd not heard of

And FWIW, we've used Dyno-Rod a few times and they've been great. Local independent plumbers have been in a range of brilliant, down to "utter robbing cnuts". So we automatically go for Dyno-Rod now.

This lot - Leeds Drain Solutions - seem pretty good. Couldn't make me an invoice though. Only thing I can fault then on really.

Well, you've experienced how it should be done ;)

Something something don't break shit, something something TO THE PUB.

In other news, they're hiring the first person they interviewed, and after two weeks of no discussion, they now want a critical BAU process fully documented for Monday.

And because the new charge only has a couple of years experience it'll need to be documented thoroughly.

Sigh.

The new person needs to document it - not you.

Let them set up whatever meetings and workshops they will need to extract what they feel is needed for this.

Agree to proof read it before you go at the absolute maximum.

Not your problem anymore
