My mate drove to Dorset today and he said that once he was about 20 miles out of London all the petrol station were fine with minimal queues. Therefore I can only conclude that the SE is full of shitheads.

Only if Norfolk is "SE" as it's still a clusterfuck.

All the old people who do 5 miles a week suddenly needing to brim their tanks for no reason, and all the people that have to actually drive anywhere because public transport is virtually nonexistent.

It's not my fault, it's everyone else's.

This was about 15 years ago from memory. By far and away the best episode of HIGNFY

Took me about 45 mins of driving round to find a petrol station with any fuel this evening. Eventually found one and queued for about half an hour. By the time I got to the pumps they only had diesel and super unleaded left. I'm good for another week or so now. It pretty nuts out there!

2000 was the first petrol crisis in my living memory. That was caused by the drivers strikes.

I had my 1st metro in 2000, it had no catalyst so I was quite happy driving around with LRP in it

The shortage seems to have reached the South Hams today. I filled up yesterday though, so looking forward to a nice traffic-free trip home on Saturday.

Popped past Tescos just now for snacks. They had a sign up saying no diesel, but the entrance to the 24h station was completely coned off. All the diesel and a few normal unleaded nozzles had caps over them, all the super ones were clear.
I guess they’d just shut it to stop people turning up while it’s unattended and filling all manner of containers in the middle of the night.

Fairly quiet in the Midlands, popped into Tesco and barely a queue, full tank of 99. Drove past The Asda and only a few waiting.

I woke up randomly a couple of hours back so thought I might as well go see if anywhere had fuel. Half way in the red, I didn't fancy too much queueing. Success at the local Shell; nice, it's the station I usually use, and while pretty busy there wasn't really a queue. Not all grades were available at every pump but they were all there somewhere, and a £30 limit with a jerry can exclusion (that might be Shell wide atm). I was lucky for another reason though, a tipper had gone in just before me partly raised and it looked fecking close to the canopy. When the driver hopped out and saw it he froze for a good few seconds...
