I was offered an evo 8, an Audi Q5 & a bmw 635 as swaps!
At least the Evo & the 635 are slightly interesting.

Another "week", so two, for the XJ8 to come back. They're mad busy with breakdowns and other urgent stuff. A bit irritating as I'd Iike to be wafting around in it by now, forgetting to pay for stuff, but at least the 45 is behaving again.
Speaking of which, on almost on the markers ditchfinder tyres, I got a really fun 4-wheel drift on the way back from the school run the other day.
...coming to a hedge near you...

The wife's F31 has eaten a set of rear tyres in no time - the inside edges almost down to the canvas in probably around 5k miles. New tyres tomorrow, then a trip to the local specialist to check the suspension (whilst it's being serviced). it may be tracking, but I wouldn't mind getting the suspension looked at before I do it, just in case it's worn bushes/springs/other.

Mr Rich B: The tracking is out.
Mrs Rich B: Time to go to work:

Sadly, I think the only accelerated tyre wear she's responsible for is the sidewalls along every kerb whilst parking...

Had a “6k for quick sale” email this morning so I’ve told them I’ve already accepted £5k and it’s being collected at the weekend. He’s now sending me desperate emails saying he’ll give me £6k and come and collect it RIGHT NOW.
I do sometimes wonder if I’m the c**t in all this.

At least you're getting some fun out of what is normally a hateful process!

Ask him to send a photo with £6k cash and today’s newspaper as proof of funds

Quite weirdly I also heard from a guy I knew on the E36 forum *ages* ago. He was browsing cars, it caught his eye and then he saw the username and thought “I wonder if it’s the same sundayjumper”. He googled and found this forum and this thread

I recently carried out a number of small jobs on the Golf, to prevent it from looking too shabby, now that it's 20 years old.
Thought I'd got everything done, then I noticed at the weekend that the OSR looked a bit lower than usual...yep, broken rear spring!
Looked up the part number from the last time I ordered replacement springs 8 years ago from ECP. Same part number on CP4L and fortunately only gone up £3 in price to the princely sum of £34/spring.

^ At least they're easy to change, even though it's a kick in the balls after giving it some tlc.

After owning the Panda for three days under a year it has thrown its first fault at me, a nasty rattle on small bumps which I'm hoping is just a drop link. Further investigation required.

Deal agreed on the 740d. Less money than I wanted. Nice chap, but he was thorough and uncovered a few issues that I'd not noticed.
I'm going to have fish & chips for dinner to cheer myself up.

Update - driving to work this morning when the rattle turned into a clunk followed by the sound of something bouncing along the outside of the car floor then silence. Self healing car
The car was MOTd a couple of weeks ago so I’m wondering if the mechanic left a tool of some sort on the car.
