One of the big companies started using 3D printed intake trumpets inside their air box which were totally unsuitable and started delaminating and being eaten by the engine

So you won't be fitting MITOBOIZ PLC specially 3D printed limited edition Carboon Aerated box to your E36 M3?

I’ve got a hamann motorsport one to go on if I ever finish welding it up and get it back on the road 😂

You're building an M3 graveyard 😢 - sort them out!

It's probably sometimes a blessing to not be too handy with spannering... that way you don't begrudge giving it to someone else to sort out. :D

That's another thing, does carbon sound any different to plastic ?

Does it need to cost £2k ? Mudge had an intake on his Z4M that he rated
It sounded great. Paging @Maurice
Was an AFE intake on my Z4M. No carbon and sounded brilliant but was pretty much a cone filter in a box. Was around 300 quid from memory. The most popular carbon jobs for the Z4M/M3s were made by GruppeM and were closer to 900 quid, which felt like daft money.

Mito Man wrote: Tue Mar 16, 2021 3:52 pm Z4Ms seem to be pretty difficult to drive fast though? I remember reading a few reviews saying they can snap pretty easily, not sure if it can be simply fixed with alignment and new suspension or whether it’s a more fundamental issue.
They're actually a safer setting from the factory, with a tendancy to understeer, so need a bit more provocation to oversteer in the dry, which is perhaps why the magazine say that they snap, but you need to be driving like a loon on the road for that to happen. It's common to apply the CSL alignment to them which you can match aside from a bit of -ve front camber without changing any components.
I had a Z4M roadster for a couple of years and did half a dozen track days and a Euro road trip. It never stepped out on me unless I was provoking it (CSL settings). I had a Boxster S Sport Edition on sports suspension afterwards and it was a far more precise and enjoyable road car.
This.

They’re a bit of a blunt instrument really. Absolutely loved mine regardless.

I went for an AFE intake on my 6 series, the GruppeM one wasn't even properly sealed so it seemed a bit much at near £1000 for a carbon fibre sheet with a K&N cone filter.

Love these auction preview videos. Good to see a variety of cars.

I’ll take the 308 at the beginning, the Viper Green 911S 2.4, and the two S1 Elises please.

NSX is lovely but mad to think it has a slushbox. Prime cadidate for a gearbox conversion methinks.

Believe this is the actual ECOTY winning car. To state the bleeding obvious, I'd much rather have last week's manual CSL.

For the money that was sat at, I'd have a 997 GT3 and spend the rest on coke/whores etc. Sounded lovely mind.

Yes same here, the very best 997.1 GT3 for that price, or 997.2 GT3 if not fussy about specs. Or Boxster GTS 4.0, 981 GT4/Spyder.....

Very nice the M2 CS, but the CSL is more desirable to me.

Not a fan of gold rims but the the M2 have always looked great. I like the CS but Harry's correct, there are lots of competition in that price bracket. The massive calipers and tiny gap between the rim seems a bit idiotic to me.

I see Chris Harris just bought a new CS on Instagram. Blue looks so much better than black.

I thought he had a black M2 CS? Did he swap it for a newer one? (Or one of those Litchfield paint wrap thingie?)

Has he still got the 1M coupe?
