I need to mull ideas over for some time usually but now and again something lands infront of you that just fits, so if I don't F about when that happens. Especially when it saves me a good amount.

Best part of all this is I'm expecting a freebie bonus from WB in next pay, which covers a good portion of the cost of the upgrade, so in real terms it's even more of a no-brainer.

Took the blue one out today for a final run and it confirms why I'm happy sticking with the "same" bike, the basic machine is just what I need for day trips and touring, light and friendly, perky at sensible speeds (bit flat above a ton but meh) and just a nice place to be when pottering about in the mountains. The new one brings better handling and extra toys, so I'm rather pleased.

And to answer JL from earlier - this is a basic QS, up only, but that's fine for just kicking it through the box. I'm still quite happy to blip downchanges myself in the meantime.

I have an “up only” quickshifter and don’t feel I’m missing out by not having a blipper. In fact, I love a good manual blip.

Took mine out yesterday with the boys to look at the new bike shop at clay cross.

It. Was. Fucking. Freezing. But then I only had my normal jeans on in a bid to take it steady, which works by the way - nothing over 120

Bennetts evntually came good on the insurance Baz - 200 notes with my mods isnt too bad.

£200 isn't bad no, I'm paying £395 on the Tracer alone, with the extras included.

And yeah, was chilly yesterday but I had my textiles and Merino leggings on. Not pretty but they work.

Fitted yet another set of horns Stainless this time instead of chromed. Nicely matched hi/lo tone pair so sound good as well. Cracking ride this afternoon. Fabulous weather in the south west over the past few days.

Nice. I bought a really loud horn for mine after getting reversed into last year. Yet to fit it. Also noticed my MOT ran out 7 March ooops.

Only 10db louder than standard horns but you can hear the difference.

Every 3db doubles the sound pressure because it’s a logarithmic scale, so yeah 10db is a lot louder.

I put a louder horn on the old DC2 and it was like a train klaxon, I used to worry about using it in case it gave someone heart failure

TracerGT update - DVLA being their usual workshy selves still haven't returned the bikes new UK plate (it's come from I.O..M) so collection likely to be next week at this rate.

Fazer side stand cutout decided to cut the motor twice on the way home recently, which was er interesting. Investigation reveals the seal on the plunger for the switch has failed so I'm guessing its corroded up internally. Fowlers/Wemoto taking the piss on price for new ones so I'll bridge it out and make do without that stupid little switch.

Triumph - hoping to get it out for another run this weekend, it's pretty much run in now so I can start working on the 8k+ fun times

New tyres being fitted to the S10 this weekend. It's on Heidenau K60s right now as some time back I was racked with guilt about about not using it "as intended" (or in fact at all, back then - it didn't move in two years) and thought the right boots would make me take it off-road.

That plan totally failed However, as it's getting used pretty much every day for half of the year, I thought some more appropriate tyres would be a good idea, plus the back one is pretty worn after 10k kms on it.

Metzeler Tourance NEXT - this is your time to shine. Supposed to have great grip, smooth riding and lasts for ages, and I love the Metzelers on the BMWs so thought it would be good to try something from the same brand. Let's see.
