There’s an assortment of unofficial rally car sets on ali express if you’re not against knock off stuff

If you make a snowy setup for the Quattro, this could go quite nicely on your sandy one

I wouldn't touch the knock-off stuff. The joy of Lego is how well it all works and fits together; even the best knock-offs don't have that quality.

A couple of my mates have tried the knockoff Lego and said it's actually pretty good. Said that once it's built and on the shelf, you'd never know and it's a quarter of the price.

For me, it's more the principle of it. I've got a long history with Lego with retro boxed stuff in the loft (although not bought any in a while) and it just feels wrong. Bit like having a MR2 355 - most people might not know...but I'd know.

I quite enjoyed the Chinese garden diorama and I've seen similar ideas yeah, so I can't claim it's all my own idea. This started with me building some sand plates up to give it a little context, then I made a base and went from there. Tempted to try and make a little "track side" one for the F1 cars. I'll need to buy some more bulk second hand stuff

They were stupid enough when I saw the price was $149 in the US. I don’t get it.

Have bought four Ikea Glis storage boxes today and sorted my loose Lego into them. I like them; I don’t think the lids would stay closed if you knocked them off the table but they’re well designed and sized.

Problem is I need more now. They’re only £4 each but it means braving Ikea again. Parts for 3 MOCs have not totally filled them but filled some compartments to the brim and I don’t want to sort them in a worse way

Really enjoying doing the GT40, wow, Technic lego has some fancy bits that it didn't have when I was a lad! I also don't think I've joined or even seen two pieces that connect with the dimples in a way that traditional lego does, which is different to the old technic sets I had.

So far they've sized the bags really well, I can take a bag and assemble that part in under an hour, then put it away from the meddling hands of a 5 year old until I next have a free window. As a way to keep me away from a screen and relax so far I'm appreciating it.

Very much this, the Diagon Alley Microscale and Santa's Post office sets I did over Christmas were both great, only complaint was occasionally a too high clutch strength. Less than half the price of Lego.

There’s a Lego shop at JFK with all the biggest models.. keep getting tempted by Space Shuttle on 747 and all the F1 stuff, but resisting it until I can pretend it’s for someone else’s birthday or something

i wondered who bought big lego sets at the airport, i mean, what do you do with them when you have all your other luggage? and do they go in the hold?

They deliver duty free to the aircraft to be collected at the door when you board, so maybe that.. and it goes wherever I say it does!
