I had always assumed Pasta needed the special press rollers but I might give it a go now thanks.
This video shows how easy it can be.
I added an egg to my flour along with a little bit of water (but too much makes it super sticky and hard to work with) and, as I said, I also thought a little bit of olive oil and salt improved it.

I've no idea why I watched all 45 seconds of that.

Anyway..... it’s OK now - we can all get back to normal soon. It’s over.

Tim is going to be well pissed off if it turns out organised religion was right all along.

That'll teach him to eat the extruder plate from the pasta machine!

You think I am capable of using a phone camera the wrong way round AND simultaneously operate the Machine Of Awesome?
And I only wear blue nail varnish.

I've become a convert to Slow-cooker bread. Make a regular bread dough, bung it in the slow cooker set to high for 2-3hours and they're some of the softest loaves I've ever made. Removing the proving stage and not needing the oven make it so much easier.
ooh, we've got a slow cooker. And some bread flour and yeast. *Heads off to google*.

Supermarkets are doing a good job of separation now, but it's definitely at the expense of convenience. We tried to go to Sainsburys and it was a large spaced out queue round the whole car park, so gave up on that. Waitrose was a small queue but wouldn't let couples in so I had to sit in the car; since the wife and I buy different stuff we weren't really prepared for that (especially when not everything is there and you have to adapt).
So she's gone in, and I'll probably have to go and pick up some more stuff for myself at another point.

Could you have queued separately and both gone in on your own??
Or are they stopping that??

Make a list!

Get out the car round the corner and join the queue as well.
RichB, don't tell me off for this suggestion please.

Well we were queuing up while the guy managing the people going in the door came over to explain the rules. So he would have recognised what we'd done instantly, could do it next time and shopped separately I supposs.
Swervin_Mervin We could have made a list if we'd have known, and I did have a few essentials in a list that I sent her. Next time we'll be better prepared. We tried to use a video call so she could show me some bits from the shelves to let me choose but it didn't work very well. I guess we're used to going with a list as an aide-memoire but generally winging it on what we each fancy in the shop.

Having to shop for a few days at a time has been a ball ache. I don’t usually know what I want for dinner today let alone 3 days from now

If it wasn’t for my wife, I’d be in the same boat. She’s doing a meal planner before going shopping and is getting enough ingredients in a few big bags to make meals for the family for about 7-10 days.
We had quite a few pictures on social media again from the weekend with local parks and countryside being pretty rammed with people and parked cars. Is it just me or should the advice from the government be more clear - you can go outside for exercise, once, from your door.... not in your car to go somewhere first?
I’m living in constant fear that this is going to end up in a proper lockdown due to this behaviour.

I smell a pay cut coming, executives have just been given a 30% cut, which is no doubt a preamble to giving everyone else 20%.
