My bike insurance has shot up this year through bennetts - any pointers who is good for mods? Seems actually telling them about my better brakes makes the policy rise
Try BeMoto Si, they weren't too bothered about the mods/options on mine.

I changed the standard plastic indicators for some little alloy jobbies. Proper orange lenses and halogen bulbs

The old ones were so shit that they were out of focus

The new ones are much sharper

Currently trying to convince myself to do the right thing and fit some gunmetal grey dymags...

...as opposed to the wrong thing (which is winning the argument currently) and fit some Kineo tubeless spoked wheels

I do like it yeah.

Very basic machine but it enables me to that whole fetishising/personalising thing with shiny stuff whilst still being a decent and very usable ride.

Pretty much all my mates here ride MX - the YZ is the current favourite. Crazy power and doesn't go wrong.

BUT - if you're going to be riding MX tracks rather doing hill climbs up sand dunes - you'll have way more fun on a 250. A 450 is way too powerful for MX tracks - it'd be like taking a 919 around Knockhill.

Been toying with upgrading my Tracer since I tried the new GT model, the extra suspension work along with all the other improvements make it a much more rounded package. By pure luck the supplying dealer had a 2nd hand one come in this week, with upgraded screen and top rack already fitted, and for a tidy saving. Hoping to collect it next weekend.

Been dealing with Rob yeah, nice chap.

This bike came from I.O.M, 2700 miles since May '18. Bloody mint and a decent saving over new, and without the running in hassles. Hopefully the original owner ran it in properly. Judging by condition and tyres it's had an easy life so far. Puig touring screen and Yamaha rack and comfort pegs too. I've blagged Yamaha rad guard and a topbox. Just waiting for the UK plate to come through and a service and we're good to go.

I was close to just swapping mine in for new but the huge cost difference was upsetting my northern bones, so this is ideal really, saving me about £1700 over new, for a bike not yet a year old.

Better suspension/longer swingarm (more stability and control)
Better seat
QS
Cruise
Heated grips standard
22l side cases standard
Colour LCD - based on the R1 kit but not as comprehensive software

Small but worthwhile extras - narrower bars for easier filtering (and getting past my side gate for private washing), shorter throw on clutch lever, smoother bodywork means less crusty fly debris/easier cleaning. And while it doesn't photograph all that well I'm rather taken with the colour scheme, the gold forks/blue wheels really work well, and set off nicely against the black/silver.

That's lovely Baz and always sounded like a when rather than if. That previous owner can really look after a bike!!

And the colour scheme is indeed lovely - seen it in the reals and it really works.

QS mit autoblip?

Nice one Baz. Glad you didn't have to bother with a brand spanker as well. I hate all that running in and first service crap.
