Assuming it's in the UK he'd also be passing on the wrong side of the road so should be paying extra care anyway. I'd have thought it fairly easy to argue a Without Due Care charge

I really want to disagree with Jobbo on this one, but the bin guy literally walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

I think the bigger risk here is that of the other binmen yanking you out of the van and knocking your fucking spark out

In fact, he walked into the front quarter or door of the van, not even into its path, the van was literally next to him when he stepped towards it. I doubt the van driver got any grief, it's more likely the binmen gave their colleague a nickname 'Titanic' because he failed to see the fucking massive danger right in front of him.

I'd like to disagree with myself - a pedestrian is a vulnerable road user. But this is the point - what could the Transit driver have done differently? He is allowed to drive round the bin truck and he didn't do it particularly quickly.

Yep, that's exactly the same thought process I went through the van driver appears to be correctly proceeding when the bin guy stepped into his path.

We don’t know the road so it may have been more than a minutes wait, if you catch a lorry halfway down Stamford Road you are basically doing the rounds with the bin lorry

The driver should have made eye contact with the binman and the binman should look when he just walks. Probably just in a routine and got a bit mindless.

We’ve got no official scheme in this area, just a bunch of scrotes wizzing around on them at 30 odd mph down the wrong side of the road or flying past frail old folks on the paths, sometimes with 3 or 4 on the on we’d scooter

Cyclist is a nob. Turns right from left lane and then claims to have been in the right hand lane.

The cyclist looks entirely in the wrong and it's incredibly fortunate nobody came off. But what are the rules there? I grew to like the turning right on red, and that lane looks perfect for it, but lanes in the US aren't generally marked as right only. Should he be undertaking the cars even if you ignore the cyclist?

I guess if the left lane is straight ahead only and the right lane is straight ahead or right then "passing slower moving traffic" because your lane is clear is fine.

Cyclist is 100% in the wrong on every single count here - turning right from an incorrect lane, not a single check to see of the way was clear, not signalling etc...
