Can’t you just put tape over the interior camera?
How about not having a sig at all?

I'm going to give it a go. I checked the EX30 forums where someone has done this with some success (has reduced it but not got rid of it entirely)

Aaaaaaaaaand this would put any car on the no purchase list as serious as cars coming with car shit in the glove box as standard 😂
Isn't space Karen and the elongelicals enough on their own?

Que?
If a car I bought could essentially make itself undriveable throughout my ownership it would be instantly removed from a possible list of cars to own.

It’s just stupid, a car is about personal freedom and when that is messed about with in any way it becomes a pointless thing for me. Software stuff I especially hate.

Oh aye, I get that bit, it's the "cars coming with car shit in the glove box as standard" I don't follow :) :?

Ahh, I mean that if a car had cat shit in the glove box I see it the same as over the air updates. It would instantly make me not want to buy it.

New Citroen e-C3 looks promising as a second car EV. Only a bit more than the Dacia Spring but better range, more space, better performance and equipment, rear seat fits 3 rather than 2, and Citroen comfiness.

I'm going to have to join this thread now.

Wifey does very few miles, probably less than 100 per week, so the slow charger will be fine for now, but we'll obviously need a proper charger at some point. My garage already has a dedicated 60A feed from the meter and its own consumer unit. Is the charger simply wired into the CU like any other high power circuit (e.g. an oven) ? So all they need to do is run a 32A cable to the front of the garage and plug it in ?

And do you lot have any recommendations on chargers ? There's a bewildering range of them.

FWIW we're with Octopus already and they seem very geared up for EV (and solar, maybe that's next on the list), whatever is compatible with them would be a good start.

We've got a Zappi V2 and it has never given us any trouble. Combined with the MyEnergi thingy you can control and see what's going on, and it'll integrate with solar too. Very much an appliance that requires little or no thought.

As you mention it's just a 32a cable straight to nearest consumer unit.

I used a 3pin charger for about 6 months with the first i3 with no bother.

That's exactly the kind of recommendation I was looking for, ta 8-)

Chargers all have to be "smart" now I think, cos reasons, so you can control most via the app. Rolec had an average reputation when mine went in but its been faultless in 5+ years. If you are thinking going solar/battery then just do your research on the best ones that work well with that setup tbh.

I started looking at solar/battery but paused everything while I sorted my back out, I should get in touch with them again. And stop buying motorcycles perhaps, so I can pay them.

I’ve two properties with podpoint installed.. been completely reliable for 4+ years. Probably hard to go wrong with them as the car limits the charge rate, and it’s just a (thick) cable from consumer to car charging cable, so pick the best deal/aesthetics and you should be fine

It's going to get interesting if they go for a "per mile" charge for EVs and retain the current emissions-rating based charge for IC vehicles. Pro's and cons to each system of course, but running both will change behaviours in households that own both..... "no leave the EV at home, and take the V10 diesel Toerag for that 500 mile round-trip so we don't get taxed more".....

They’ll make the road tax on the V10 diesel £5000 a year instead.
All these cvnts do is sit down and think of new ways to tax people.

They will do both, I imagine.

As for the tax, can anyone think of a tax reduction recently?? It seems that both parties just think that increasing tax rates is the answer to everything!..
Cheers,
