If the OEM mirrors actually worked as mirrors I'd leave them on but they're a disgrace, Triumph should be ashamed letting machinery out with non functioning mirrors. Half tempted to just take them off and do without.

Otherwise I just wanted the bellypan to fill the gap under the bike before the collector/cat, as it is clearly intended to run that as part of the styling but Triumph are trying to scam us out of more money. Can GTF at those prices.



As for the XJR, I've seen a few "shed built" types about at they do lend themselves well yeah.

Bar end mirrors are an absolute must on the Street Triples, unless you’re happy only being able to see your own shoulders.

Fitted a new handlebar to my bike. Lots of people don't like these as for some reason they find them hard on the wrists. I actually find they enable a much more natural riding position.

New risers (+20mm) as well so it doesn't foul the tank or block the preload adjusters. Only problem I have now is getting it out the door..

Sort-of new addition to the fleet - mate I bought my BMW off needs to sell the S1000RR he bought to replace it, and gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. 2016, black on forgies, for GBP 7k. AFAIK that's a GBP 11k bike minimum - bit of mate's rates, bit of rent he thinks he owes me for crashing here the last month (I never asked) and finally he's leaving soon and has got too much on his plate to suffer the local market retards - et voila.

Except it's not for me, but for the recently relocated co-parent who is desperate to get onto a 'bike again (she's paying for it btw!). I looked at what should have been an HRC CBR600RR identical to my old one that she f'ing loved for her the other day that was described in showroom condition. And it was - if the showroom was in Aleppo.

Black treacle for brake fluid, chain made of rust, rear can actually broken where it meets the centre pipe, etc etc. New tyres but they were not up to my exacting standards and basically it looked like it had been owned by some twat. Which it had - innit bruv kna'a'mean fam. Say no more.

I then realised that in the segment of the market I / we would be into for her budget, this was not going to be uncommon in terms of a buying experience, so the purse strings were loosened a little. For 2k more she's on what I still think to be one of THE bikes of the last 15 years.

Yes it's too quick for her but I don't know if that's an issue. It's just a lovely thing to ride and own, and she's had enough mileage on my 600 to know her way around a sports bike, plus it's in great nick and owned by a mate and worked on by me and him, and they are also more than happy to be driven slowly and smoothly. I feel good about the decision I have co-erced her into .

Needs swapping back to normal shift from GP shift - that confused me for a bit! Also it's in super-aggressive nutter settings right now, the rear tyre is a slick and it needs the preload setting adjusted to someone 50 kg lighter. But apart from that - it's a beaut.

Are her wheels lighter than yours, then? Swap those over, if so.

They are indeed, even wheeling it around feels different to mine. But let's see how she gets on with them - might make it a bit more manageable for her, plus I quite like the heavy wheels on mine, makes it feel properly planted.
