This is camping with small dogs but no bikes. Fridge, food and table in the boot with the dogs. The children do have their own seats but as the trailer is teeny then I use them as a reversing aid.

Even though the Previa came clean, up close it was clear it had a quick once over with a machine polisher and not much effort put into any blemishes, so I took advantage of a free day this weekend to spend some time getting it right.

First a good wash and removed a lot of mud from under the arches.
Touched up some stone chips and scratches.
T-Cut scratch remover on some scratches and the headlights.
Triple Wax Polish and Car Plan No 1 sealant Gloss (both far cheaper and easier to apply the Autoglm equivalents) , even went as far as doing the arches too.

I forgot to mention - I had a go at this too. The headlights on the 911 had been looking pretty bad lately - hard to make it show up on photos but this was the before - a grainy haze across the plastic:

First stage scared the bejeezus out of me! Thought I was going to be shelling out 2.5k for new lights



End result came up well - the tree reflections hide how clear they now look. Not perfect but good enough until I take it to the bodyshop to get a load of other issues rectified.

Looks great, what product(s) did you use ?

I used the autoglym headlight restoration kit which fits to a power drill. I would recommend it save for that they use something akin to a velcro backing to attach the different circular cutting pads and then the polishing pad. All well and good save that the polishing pad adheres to the surface and wrecks it when you pull it off...

Not only does that mean you can't reuse it for more than one car but it means if you've done one light first as I did - you have to basically wedge the cutting pads between the drill bit attachment and the light using pressure to hold it. Not ideal!

You can get headlights near enough perfect if you persevere.

Isn't there a treatment you then need to re-add to the light plastic to protect it from sunlight again?

The bloke I got my Evora headlight film from appears to do 997 ones too. Worth consideration.

Yeah, if they’ve been polished the protection is already ruined, but if you’ve already got the kit then it’ll only take a couple of minutes once a year to bring them back.

I’m amazed they left the lights on the Previa like that in the for sale pics, our local hand car wash will do a decent job for £10!

On a bright day it does gain a bit of warmth in colour from the sunlight.
Its very boringly Japanese inside...

Playful paint, nice, more rewards for your labour. The change in appearance of the headlights no doubt helped it look different in the pics.
That interior should be dark enough for SJ. "Boringly Japanese" maybe, straight and tidy definitely, here's to reliability being boringly Japanese also

Passengers are welcome to add their own sound effects.
Dash is adventurous by Toyota standards of the era, tame for Citroen... its actually a good position as the standard binnacle location behind the steering wheel would be too low.
