I'm guessing cheap tatty 7 with a redtop for Ste to go wild on the build without compromising resale.

MX5 passed its MOT with flying colours. Kwik Fit again, but a different branch; still as good at doing the cheap MOT as my old nearest.

Fields round my house have gates left open and very hard stubbly ground, looking gorgeous.

Looking great! 8-)

Car is nearly back together. However, decided not to roll the dice - I've replaced 3 of the 4 wheel bearings on the car since I've had it and it's got 110k on the clock. So before I put the last corner back together I've ordered up a wheel bearing for it. Knowing my luck, if I didn't I'd just have to take it apart again in a few weeks time when it likely went, like the others.

It's the O/H's 30th today so will pick it up tomorrow and finish it off.

I bought one of the cheapie Delphi knock-off code readers to use on the Compact and it’s pretty good. Cleared the airbag error no problem. The ABS error persists, supposedly the pump, but according to The Internet this is most likely a dry joint in the control module. A bit of a pig to get to but fingers crossed it’s a cheap fix once it’s out.

Just for a bit of balance my dad bought a new petrol Dacia Duster today :D

Its a bit agricultural but exactly what he needs.

Can never argue against 'fit for purpose'.

They have a stance that just looks right.

I get the feeling Ste is feeling rather emasculated by Coaster’s GT3 news.

Well today was a fucking super awesome day as I got my car back and it’s a bit of a dream build. Probably as horrible as the efforts of Mansory for you lot but I love it
Image
So starting from the front it has a light bar, all LED lights.

Image
All white rear LED lights, reversing camera and a silver roof, which is some official LR paint so it’s authentic.

Image
Been lowered 2 inches, it now fits in my underground parking space without the roof rubbing on the insulated water pipes on the ceiling.

Image
All the suspension, anti-roll bars and steering dampers have been upgraded. It now corners with minimal body roll and will drift. This was demonstrated to me as I didn’t believe it.

The whole interior was removed for Dynamat insulation and more rust proofing along with the bonnet. Alcantara roof installed
Image
The doors close with a decent thud and all the panels feel solid when you tap them, no longer like a tin can.

The centre console was changed out to facilitate a double din entertainment system with Apple CarPlay, with upgraded audio system and amp hidden under the armrest. Changed to a smaller momo wheel so it no longer rubs my knees.
Image
It’s nice, quiet and refined now with crisp audio.

Looking towards security I previously bought a steering lock and pedal locks and only used them on the first day and never again as it was too much of a faff. A quick release seems like a much more practical solution for me if only to channel my inner F1 driver
Image

It’s also been mapped so it has a bit more poke now.
I think that’s all, might have forgotten some small things.

You're not going to get any series drivers waving to you in that

I like it.

It's nice but it's not a Duster on M+S tyres though is it :D

Are you deliberately urbanising it ?

Are those headlights now tinted?

If yes; please depart with your head held vey very low.....

I drive it on the road 95% of the time so it reflects that, it should cope just as well for what I throw at it off road, namely gravel, mud and wet grass as opposed to wading through rivers and traversing boulders. I won’t put low profile sports tyres and wheels on it although I did have a discussion about a LS3 conversion which would sway things that way but that’s some years away at least.

Headlights aren’t tinted, it’s just black plastic behind a clear cover.

I was gonna mention those headlights but Mik beat me to it. Is that 'black behind a normal cover' legal then?

Oh, and I like the rest apart from the sub.

Nice egg 8-) What's with the 6th form art project?

Like the LED bar too.
