Lotus - 4th Gear syncro has gone. Fine when its cold but as it heats up it gets worse and worse - crunch on gear change. Dropped it off on saturday to local specialist CMC for a gearbox rebuild. said he'd have the car for 2 weeks. At the same time its getting my nice new bilsteins fitted so at least when it comes back it will feel a bit upgraded £DONTASK. there is a mission Motorsport vets thing at croft on the 3rd August i might be doing if its back in time.
Reassuringly expensive? What's the story with the Bilsteins? Upgrade or rebuild?
Factory upgrade option dampers which was part of their “Track Pack”
Same as

Just had a lift in the Tesla and noticed that you can now browse the web while driving
Pretty sure that wasn’t a thing before.

HELLLLOOOO!!!!
My GT3’s gearbox will require rebuild too (5th gear issue); I am expecting a lot of ‘whilst the gearbox is out let’s do XYZ’ works as well.
At least it’s pretty.
Bet that's cheap
I've been thinking about how I've not had any massive bills recently so am waiting for one
Mega miles

So the Jag broke down, I took it home and parked it up, and off we went again in the V60.
Guess what
EPB stuck on, motor snapped off of the nsr caliper.
Only 3 miles from home so the pads got sacrificed.
2 new motors, discs and pads £278.64, seems pretty cheap to me!
Fitted the new rear calipers and pads to the V60 Monday, all back in service as it should be now.
Picking the XF up from Jag later today if I have time before we go to the caravan, new Intercooler fitted so it should be good for another 70k miles now I'd hope!
Glad it's under warranty as they're not cheap to buy, and you seemingly can't get non O.E ones either!

Tried to put the roof down today, wouldn't start the final section of putting the roof into the tonneau cover. Well, that's my weekend activities sorted, time to break out the laptop and throw all the diag software on it and work out what's going on. Sounds like it's trying to move the hood, and it doesn't 'fault out' so a physical investigation will likely also be required.
Ho hum.

Why on earth would anyone think those horrible wheels belong on that?!

I think those are specifically to appeal to chavs, of which there seem to be plenty running road legal quads around Leeds and Pudsey.
And usually riding them like utter cunts.

Ah you've gone full 'traveller' spec then.
Don't go Osbourne'ing yourself on it.

If the wheels were all black I don’t think I could ever find it
I think I am turning into a traveller, I want a jet ski too and the other day I saw a Ford Ranger towing a caravan but it was no ordinary one - it had a fifth wheel conversion which looked proper cool

This is peak living

I’m with the others on the wheels, but otherwise that is epic.
A proper quad is an awesume thing.

I’ll spray the wheels satin black once they start to lacquer peel.
Used it a bit to move some animal feed which got the exhaust nice and hot and it really came to life. Just doing 10 mph, let off the throttle and it burbles and pops a few times - it’s not like a gun shot, quite restrained. Accelerate back to 10 mph and repeat whilst giggling like a child.

Last time I had a go on a quad I was 12 years old. Managed to invert it
We’ve booked a last minute stay up in Scotchland next week (Cairngorms and then Edinburgh). I didn’t really fancy 1200 miles with no left indicator so I had to abandon hope of getting a ULO rear light which have apparently been on back order since October last year… and put my hand in my pocket for a ‘Porsche’ one. £550 — thieving bar stewards.
I’ve been watching Harry from Evo’s trip up to the old military road on the way to Glenshee / Braemar- looking forward to giving that a go

At one time my favourite road evah. Head for the A939 to the Lecht ski slopes after Braemar though for some slightly lower speed but fabulously twisty sinuous tarmac though.

We're in Leith next week too! Checked oil, no change downwards. Just clicked over 56789 miles.

I does look epic, almost Swiss alps-like in places.
Oh and I meant Henry from Evo, not Harry

Just remember you’re still expected to wear masks up here

One of these will go down well in Leith:

Not been for a while but apparently Leith is all £6 pints and £4 flat whites these days. I don't think people would even get the connection
