Yes
In fairness it’s because it’s the only one I’ve done with a separate bell housing, which I put on first as the gearbox is much easier to line up and push straight onto 4 studs that fit with the bell housing and have to wiggle it up and in the the trans tunnel and try and reach around the gearbox to fit all the awkwardly placed bolts.
But by doing it that way you don’t go through the normal process of slipping the bearing over the input shaft while preparing the box to go on.
Thankfully I checked whether the clutch felt ok before fitting the prop shaft, heat shields, exhaust etc or there would have been even more swearing

Gearbox back out and back in again, clutch feels like it’s supposed to.
Just the propshaft and exhaust and I can run it properly, maybe even move it under its own power

Check the brakes feel like they should before you move it

Bit of advice, if you’re putting a gearbox back in, don’t forget to fit the clutch release bearing otherwise you might swear a lot
I can confirm that this is a mistake you only make once as it is “quite infuriating”.
See also having a brain fart and remembering that - whilst you do bash out old wheel bearings, you squeeze the new ones in. I remembered this with hammer in hand as the internals of the new wheel bearing spilled over the filth of the garage floor….
This did of course occur back in the days before mobiles. I was home alone as my parents were away, and I couldn’t reach any of my mates, so I had no way of going to buy another one. I did clean it all up and tried to squeeze it all back together in the vice, but it wouldn’t play.

Good point. The strap holding the fence up is still attached to the rear wheel
And by move I mean forward a few feet, then back a few feet, just to prove it does

Bah my Mito struggles to get above 90 again, checked the wheels whilst filling myself with crap at the motorway services and this time the front right caliper is smoking hot. Maybe I need to start just pre-emptively greasing them every year…

Cheapest one I can find for sale at the moment is £60k.
I like them, but not that much. Absolutely mental.

Aren't you tempted to cash in to free up time, money and space for all the other stuff you've got on the go ?

Not really, not yet. Mines worth nothing near that at the moment either.
Still has a lot of sentimental value, and still a few trips to tick off the wish list which I never got to do when I was still using it.
Plus the thought of getting rid, regretting it and knowing I’d never be able to afford another would kill me. I’d like to be able to take the boy to college in it, and I’d like to give a few friends who have never been in one and never going to buy one the chance to drive it.
I could do enough welding to pass an mot and filler the body to make it reasonable presentable over a few weekends, but they’re not the cheapish semi disposable cars they once were so I think it justifies doing it or getting it done properly.

I'd imagine you could get a £15k credit card or loan, spunk all that on parts and repairs, then sell the car at market value, pay the credit card off and still have another £15k in cash left over

Is it supposed to do that ?
I don’t think it’s supposed to do that.
