And yet they'll vote for him in their millions. Idiots.

If only you could offer them the gift of perspective. Just a minute of seeing the through the eyes of another.

I know, I'm naive in thinking that perhaps that would change something.

Trump is a moron but the fact it’s so neck and neck doesn’t purely point to what must be a relatively small hardcore MAGA crowd - says more about how piss poor the Biden administration must have ran things the past 4 years.
The grass appears greener on the other side, and the opposition is always free to spout whatever nonsense they want, because at the end of the day there’s no consequence for not realising those claims.

But Trump has a record in office too - a terrible one at that. It's not as simple as 'the grass is greener' because that grass is well trodden.

Biden's record stands heads and shoulders above Trump's, but the nutters drive the agenda. I think a lot of it is also down the same dichotomy as here. No matter what you can't vote for the other side. So you either hold your nose or don't bother.

I still think it's Trump's to lose because there will be a lot of Americans for whom a black, female president is utterly inconceivable. But there do appear to be plenty of people who aren't jumping on the Trump/MAGA bandwagon a second time. It's not like the Brexit vote or 2017 general election here though; in those, Remain was arrogant and failed to campaign, then May did the same thing, thinking the other side couldn't win. Harris is definitely campaigning well and will keep going.

I think just generally what affects average joe the most - wages and inflation was far better during Trump's term. Of course it's all down to Covid rather than what the parties did but I think much like here, life was cheaper and thus better a few years ago and people think that they can go back to that with Trump.

That's just that one moment in time though, one she corrected shortly after. Not that other people haven't let it lie either though, some just a few days ago... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caitlin_Upton

Harris v Trump debate is tonight at 2am UK time. I really want to see this, am even slightly tempted to wake up for it.

I hope Harris can resist saying too much; allow Trump to make an obvious dick of himself. He talks himself into ever more preposterous propositions and insults if given enough free rein.

Trump trying to claim that a crazy american woman abusing her cat is actually “immigrants eating dogs” is probably going to be the biggest take away from this debate.

The amazing thing is, his supporters will only access 'news' sources that back up everything he says. So they'll be going around to everyone today saying "you know the immigrants are eating pets! Vote Trump to get rid of them or your pet will be next".

Glad to see that Harris handled that well, by putting pressure on Trump to defend himself he got flustered and dived into those crazy stories, as Jobbo predicted.

I love how the tables have turned and Harris is making Trump look like the senile old man now.

She did well by staying quiet and only making funny facial expressions as Trump ended up digging a deeper pit.
