6 Underground
It's a new Ryan Reynolds Netflix flick done by Michael Bay.
Conflicting. Mostly proper brain out entertainment - opens with a sublimely ridiculous car chase around Florence. But then
there are scenes of children being gassed
weird.

I didn't make it through the car chase before turning it off.

Watched Unhinged last night. Road rage taken to the next level.

Watched The Old Guard yesterday. Entirely forgettable and meh. Doesn't do anything well, plot is thinner than Trump's skin and the end a "get ready for the sequel".
3/10 pharma CEOs.

I thought it was a quite good brain out action film.

Man on Wire
Missed it first time round. Brilliant documentary, great footage and while not acknowledged, one of the team was an awesome photographer. Many of the B&W stills featured are fantastic.
Interesting parallels with the Jeb Corliss one. They both speak of what the do in Artistic terms. They are not actions or achievements - to those that do it, itβs a more a work of art, like a painting or poem to be studied, or considered.... or even a religious type experience. Neither feel they had any choice to do what the do.
Of course, things ended very different for them.

Le Mans 66 - watched this today as I had the house to myself. What a load of nonsense!! Bale must have been to the Van Dyke & Crowe regional accent school. Awful, just awful.
Fast and furious style "grab another gear and plant throttle" action throughout. It really was a disappointing load of old tat!
What a shame!

Ha. Uncanny but I suppose we watched the same rubbish at different times.

Falling Down is on Netflix, for all of you who like your 1990's 'good guy turned crazy' flix.
Warning - has some language that you wouldn't get in a modern film related to the holocaust.

State of Play
This was recommended to me by a friend, it's on Prime BTW
Russell Crowe (who I don't usually like) is a journalist doing journalist stuff.
Really good. Satisfying.
Would watch again.

The Meg
Jason Statham, science-y words, blinking lights, the Philippines trench, and an extinct mega shark (or maybe more than one... Who knows? (I do)) displaying far too many human traits.
Knew what it was before I watched it, so on that front I guess it didn't disappoint.
2/10 raised eyebrows.

Actually I have and as completely brain out flicks go it wasn't bad. Sequel to be called The Gig?
Raiders of the lost Ark is on Prime so watching it to judge its suitability as a family film.
No it really isn't, but damn it's still good.

I'm pretty sure I watched the Meg a month or so ago but I e completely forgotten all about it. I'm guessing it was utterly forgettable!

Yeah, The Meg sounded like a great recipe for a fun, nonsense shark movie (like Deep Blue Sea) but was by all accounts utter tosh. Which is a shame. I'm sure I'll still watch it as its on Prime now though.
I see Mank is out to much fanfare on Netflix, so might watch that tonight if I can sort a TV out.

Googled and Mank was directed by David Fincher, cheers
