I would ride all year around, only because I invested in full winter kit from head to toe. Winter cycling boots, merino-lined bib tights, high-quality waterproof/windproof jacket, windproof gloves, full-length mudguards with splash guards going as close to the road as possible. All of these combined made winter cycling a pleasure once past the first 10 minutes needed to warmup.

I’m still trying to decide whether I’m going to keep commuting by bike through winter.
I felt the cold this morning so I could do with some gloves and more weatherproof shoes.

That did happen when I first bought a cheap Castelli waterproof which was like cycling in a bin liner. However, expensive breathable gear is the solution. I justified the cost by saving 1.5 gallons of fuel per day

That’s my problem with buying wet/cold weather gear. The cheap stuff is shite and I’m not sure I’m dedicated enough to winter commuting to spend a lot.

I have had the bike 2 years used a handful of times it’s only done 75 miles in total.
Yup, totally living that Eco Life. I wonder how much pollution was caused by the mining for the batteries on that thing...

IMHO : cyclist is completely wrong here. Emergency vehicle - taxi indicates intentions clearly and slows down to let it past. Cyclist has to slow (could have moved left if they really wanted to) and is therefore marginally inconvenienced. Mountain molehill etc.
