I have and yes it should buy him a fair bit (although not that straightforward unless he's a Thai citizen now as IIRC there are shenanigans around only being able to buy property in Thailand if you are a national (bit like Sing))!JLv3.0 wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 10:53 am You've never been to Thailand, have you? 5m there will see him buy at least half the place in cash, and no-one ever thought he was a paedo in the first place.

Well, from the link above, if 500:1 is unconstitutional, then $37,500,000 is the upper bound of what he can be offered. I'm only speculating because I'm trying to avoid actual work.240PP wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 10:57 amNot really fair if the defendant wouldn’t notice a $5m hole.GG. wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 10:51 am Interesting. $5m seems a fair amount for having to endure the entire world wondering if you're a paedophile - especially if your accuser is an unhinged billionaire and wouldn't notice if 5m went missing down the back of the sofa...

Musk's net worth appears to be around $20bn. I don't think he'd notice $5m go missing if he was using it wipe his hole.

On further contemplation, I'm quite happy to have an online twitterstorm with Elon Musk for $37.5mNotoriousREV wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 11:00 amWell, from the link above, if 500:1 is unconstitutional, then $37,500,000 is the upper bound of what he can be offered. Ah ok - should be easier. Someone I know in HK was buying a place out there and I believe had to buy it "through" a Thai individual. Not quite sure how legal title vested in the true owner (I guess it didn't and presume in any legal dispute he would have to sue through his Thai national "partner" in the whole enterprise).JLv3.0 wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 11:01 amHis Mrs is Thai.GG. wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 10:59 amI have and yes it should buy him a fair bit (although not that straightforward unless he's a Thai citizen now as IIRC there are shenanigans around only being able to buy property in Thailand if you are a national (bit like Sing))!JLv3.0 wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 10:53 am You've never been to Thailand, have you? 5m there will see him buy at least half the place in cash, and no-one ever thought he was a paedo in the first place.
Sounds like he'll be able to afford a decent chunk of Ko Pha-ngan after this

Re: Teslas
Thinking about it more, I think the court case might just about getting Musk to shut the fvck up.
The diver guy seems to live a quiet life and just wants to get back to leading a quiet life. This is, I'm sure, difficult when every morning, you don't know if CNN are going to be knocking on your door to ask about Musk's latest twitter rant.

Re: Teslas
On a side note did anyone catch 5th gear on Quest? They had a Hyundai Hydrogen fuel cell SUV on there, which unlike all the previous attempts a FC cars is available to buy at 60k (yes it's steep for a Hyundai). It cost £70 to fill up with Hydrogen, did 400 miles and could be refilled in 5 mins. Only output was water.
Really seemed like the future.
Edit: It was the one in this picture they tested and not the old ix35 https://www.engadget.com/2018/06/20/hyu ... echnology/ Seems they have VAG on board and the other major Japanese makers are also betting on FC.
Carl.

Re: Teslas
Isn't the energy needed to create the Hydrogen in the first place, the issue that's "holding it back" as a technology...
