The new Beany is currently having a bit of a mental health crisis - hence why putting things on hold, rather than trying to deal with things while not making good decisions is a more conservative, sensible option.
There's no intention for the old Beany to stick around for too long, he gets on my fucking tits.

Big manly man hugs. I hope your coping strategies kick in.

The coping strategies are mostly 'dealing with shit'
Unfortunately I've woken up this morning with a fever so that's not helping with the dealing with things, or my mood

Just to go back to the old beany/new beany, I have just cleared out a lot of big cardboard bits that I've not got shot of, because Old Beany. Doing that has given me a thumping, splitting headache.
I'm fuckin' done with today

When you mentioned 'New Beany' I thought meant a child! I wondered if I'd been living under a rock and you'd got a secret child or stolen one.

I can barely look after myself, never mind a kid
I might stretch to a cat one day, they're pretty self reliant.

£200 increase this year on the clapped out Nissan Navara we gave to my father in law, so time to shop around for that one too I guess. Just checked and that's gone from £238 to £438 with LV.

Jobbo’s post reminded me to try multicar insurance - added the Defender to my Aviva Mito policy last night for £500 (was £450 last year but renewal wanted £700). It’s ok I guess.
I think the whole Land Rover name is tainted when it comes to insurance

why are you insuring a car you've given to your father in law?

Its up on the croft so we'll be using it there soon enough and it still needs to go on the road occasionally.

Just put the cover in place for the MX5. £189.40 as an additional car, with no NCD applied to it. Wonder how much an Emira/992/A110 would have cost?

Can anyone recommend an insurer that mirrors NCB?
Currently with Howdens (formally A-Plan) and looking at purchasing a QV which I've got lined up....unfortunately despite insuring my Evora and 4C previously I "don't have enough experience in high horsepower cars" so will only quote after I've owned it for a year
They tried another underwriter (Aviva) but they want £1600 with £700 excess, apparently due to my postcode and the cars theft history. Comparison quotes online are about £600-700, but that's based on my full NCB, and I've found in the past that the majority of mainstream won't let me use it.
Any suggestions? I fucking hate calling insurers and repeating the same 50 questions so I want to narrow it down and minimise the pain.
