In my head yes. But no money has changed hands until I’ve made sure it’s not a complete wreck.

I wouldn’t usually be up this early on a Sunday unless there was something car related going on 😁

Oooh. This sounds like the kind of stupid thing I'd do.

"Car came in Running Perfectly However has now Developed a Misfire but Engine Still Reves Up and it drives Normally. Problem not been Investigated Hence SOLD TRADE Clearance at a BARGAIN PRICE"

2 grand for a 15 y/0 Mini with a misfire? No thanks, not like there are not thousands of Minis. I fancied a Cooper S Mini to replace the Volvo but I think it was post 2011 or maybe 2010 that were far more reliable.

I messaged a guy asking if it had xenons and heated seats and he said "come see it" and so I bought the TT instead as being to idle to answer two simple questions put me off potentially wasting my time to go see it Plus it had white wheels which would have had to be changed pretty quickly.

you want to buy the same car as your missus already has but in petrol instead of diesel, after she got confused and put the wrong fuel in her one...

I'm predicting a repeat performance in the near future and the blame ending up on your shoulders!

No, she put the wrong fuel in my one ! She has a Cooper S convertible. I have a Clubman D. She put petrol in the diesel car. If both MINIs are petrol she won't get confused. Bless her.

Also, I'm a nightmare and buy stupid crap old cars for fun. It's not as if there's no precedent for this.

2011 was the introduction of the N18 engine to replace the N14. Fundamentally the same engine but the N18 has double VANOS and some other improvements. But they're a LOT more expensive, like twice the price, you need £6k+ for an N18 car.

In my head I can laugh off £2k + some parts as being fun. £6k not so much.

EDIT - actually, the cheapest N18 Clubman on Autotrader right now is £8,850:

Remembering to put diesel in the diesel car isn't *hugely* confusing 😂

Anyway, what's more important is what @integrale_evo is up to today ! I'm hoping it's a 4.8is but I've noticed the 4.6is is much much cheaper so I won't rule it out. I'm quite concerned that it won't be silver. More likely black. I'll try and stay optimistic.

Based on my ongoing MINI adventure(s), I'd happily suggest a nicely specced Cooper S Clubman. Very practical/usable without being "big" and they're fun to drive too.
A MINI Clubman would definitely definitely be on my shortlist, I’ve always liked the look of them. Great size for in town whilst being practical, they look like good value too.

Spelling aside, it does, the M62B46.

A sport model, badged 4.6is was released in 2001. The 4.6is, equipped with the M62B46 V8 engine, made 255 kW (342 hp). The 4.6is was available in 4 colors (black, imola red, estoril blue, and titanium silver). It featured 20 inch wheels that were fitted over larger brakes than the stock X5. It also had additional rear fender flares along with different front and rear bumpers. In 2004, the 4.6is was replaced by a 4.8is model which was not the M62B48 4.8L V8, which Alpina developed for its Alpina B10 V8S and the Alpina Roadster V8, but rather an entirely new engine called the N62 engine producing 265 kW (355 hp).

I've actually been looking at cars this week.

Obviously a 640d to replace the mini isn't a good Idea but at least the tax is cheaper 😀.

I'm leaning towards a 640 next.

Funny how we're all considering a 640. They were on my list when I bought the 740 but the price difference was too much to swallow at the time.

We should all buy a 6-Series and change the forum tagline to "OV9 - The Joy of Six", like nobody has ever thought of that pun before
