Possibly, or I might just get into the arrive and drive stuff, my time is so limited these days, it’s about the experiences rather than the ownership to be honest..

Seat recover - £1650 + VAT
 is that the going rate to re-cover a seat?
That was for the pair. Apparently, 928 seats are among the most complicated to recover due to the shape. It's a small company that specialise in high quality, bespoke stuff. They get a lot of referrals from Strasse, so they know Porsches and they've also done several 928s previously.

Here's a full interior they did for a 1972 Audi 100 Coupé.

They look great.

Someone on a 987 group Im in just retrimmed the seat centres burberry tartan in their cayman. Now I have to say that looks good. Theyve gone overboard tho and the roof lining and engine cover / all of the rear is the same . It looks really cheap. Here we go....

Interior retraining is one of those things which always seems ludicrously expensive for what it is. I know the materials aren’t cheap, but if you’ve got the old fabric to work from and a decent sewing machine it’s no more difficult than stitching up a pair of £10 primark jeans

If it’s so easy, why are there so many wrinkly retrims ?

Dave!

Having previously had the joy of fitting many, many leather seat covers after replacing heating elements, lumbar supports, seat frames and mechanisms etc, I'd not enjoy trying to make a seat cover from scratch.

Even with Jaguar leather, proper leather on X308s like Tim's, which is pretty soft, it's a shit to get it fitted perfectly with those stupid hog rings.

They are so exact fitting, and every bit has to be exactly right to make sure there's no wrinkles, fair play to those doing full retrims, it's a time consuming thing!

This. It’s very rare to see retrims done correctly. Steering wheels in particular end up looking like cameltoes where the rim meets the spokes.

Jag back from my local garage, with a refurbed radiator fitted and the cooling fans are now operating as expected, so double-bonus. 3 hours labour £120, that'll do nicely.

At some point I'll get the old one recored and flog it, thay make very strong money on the bay.

Gearbox next, and it needs some welding done under the nearside sill it seems.

Is this a euphemism for plastic surgery on ladies of a certain age?

I’ve been conditioned to associate Burberry check with skroty chavs so that Porsche looks like a scummy drug dealers car to me

Peugeot is off to Arnold Clark tommorow, beat WBAC by 500 quid, then there's an offer on to get an additional 500 quid extra at the minute, so a grand better!

I'm sure they will chip it down, but even if they do by 500 quid I'm still up.

And I can get picked up in the Volvo from the dealer, so saves messing about Saturday picking it up as well, two birds, one stone 😎
