I couldn’t watch it all, but Shirley he has started on different tyres to “everyone” else?
Edit now I have seen it all - some fantastic race craft demonstrated here too - passed umpteen cars with zero contact. Very strong on the brakes compared to some of the others.

Ah yes, the MR2 racing series. Single-handedly raised values of unbent ones ten-fold!
I tried to watch the BTCC at Thruxton yesterday but caught only F4 and Ginetta GT5 races. Which were superb
Some controversy in the actual BTCC though I see as Neate is fined £2k for apparently claiming a crash he caused was due to a mechanical failure - for which no evidence could be found.

Would have been good to have had an incar from his car, but it looks like he just slung it up the inside with no hope of making a clean pass and once he’d made contact just turned left and kept pushing.
Everyone expects a bit of contact in the btcc, but not blatantly shite driving
