Thanks all. She’s a lovely wee character.
I am however kinda blown away by our shepherd : she is reactive to other dogs and massively suspicious of their intentions, but 3 days in the pup is 100% under her wing. Not just tolerated.
She isn’t acting as a surrogate mum, but she’s clearly appreciating that the new Lab is a juvenile to be allowed some slack, and given some guidance. Playing with her, correcting her appropriately, nudging her to the grass and showing her where to pee.

Puppies produce a hormone or smell that gives them a free pass and lets older dogs know their status. It’s why introducing a pup is always easier than say if it were a year old.

To the point they sell puppy pheromone collars as a calming device. Dogs trust used to send dogs home with one, however it completely changes their personality so I don’t think they do it any more

It would have been smiley one's 22nd birthday today. A picture would likely be much like that one, I doubt her desire and demand to play ball would lessened she would just have developed more sneaky cheeky tricks to make the ball appear at your feet as if by magic

Flo’s had all her immunisations now so she’s able to go out and about without restrictions. Went along today to this
labrador cafe event today. I’d guess there were 100 labs. They checked all the tickets in the queue, which allowed everyone to get in quickly and the doors to be locked. “You may now let your dogs off lead”. Cue bedlam
Young dogs (Flo was the youngest and got loads of attention - which suited her just fine), old dogs, skinny dogs, fat dogs, working lines and show lines. Great fun, although a couple of the intact males clearly thought they’d arrived in heaven

Flo’s not yet 15 weeks old but her recall is great - wandered round the event with loads of distractions and temptations, but she came immediately whenever we called her.
When we left we had to go past the queue of 100 or so Retrievers waiting to go in next.
They don’t run these events for German Shepherds - which is probably wise

I took a couple of snaps / vids, but it was like Dave trying to photograph the cars in Tokyo : people everywhere and I didn’t want to assume they’d be OK having their pics taken
