This is my favourite action shot of me on my 748 at Snetterton. If I knew then what I know now, having down the Knee Down course, I'd realise my body position is all wrong and I'd have been easily dragging that slider round like a bastard if I was Doing It Right.

I can see what you’re doing wrong (crossed up on the bike, get your chin over your throttle hand) but I still can’t bloody do it myself.

I've yet to get the handle on hanging off, although I've picked up a few tips that I'm keen to work on when we eventually get some grip back in ooh three months or so..

This one is actually exiting a chicane so little chance of getting knee down for more than a split second as you're actually trying to sit the bike up as quick as poss so you can wind the gas on.. still, I like it

Yeah, exactly. You have to slide your entire body off keeping your core straight, head up and looking into the turn. Once it clicks, it's like "oh, fvck, yeah that's obvious now".

Just moving your arse off like I was doing will do fvck all.

Missed this. In order - no idea on the speed but not that much more, and maybe a bit more lean but the apex has been and gone so no need to have it cranked over any more than that.

If anything he may have stood it up quicker than me to go full retard down the straight.

I had to run up the M6 yesterday to collect a part for the Fazer, I took the car as the rain was horrendous, no way I was risking the bike in that.

Traffic in Manc was mental lat night. I was exhausted when I got home. And wet.

I monitor traffic and weather a little too closely for my sanity but I'll stay late at work if the M6 has broken and fubar'd the surrounding area, as it does. Even on the bike it's hard work getting through it all isn't it.

Apparently some blokes were playing football in Manchester last night, which caused all the traffic.

I've not ridden my S1000R for over a month now, which gives me the sads. My RT isn't getting much seat time either. It sucks but I more than make up for it when the weather is with me.

Kickball does cause chaos round here for sure. Haven't ridden my Street for a month either, but the state the roads are in I'm keeping it that way. I'll be back on Fazer next week though, with uber handling and non rattling engine hopefully!

Fazer returned this afternoon, new shock looks sweet, and the engine sounds brand new - rattle completely gone and no ticking from valves (there's feint noise there, which is reassurance they're not tightening too). Stuck at home dealing with the en-suite fitters till Sat but hopefully I can report back in the positive.

I stopped commuting in the beginning of November. I got into motorcycling for the enjoyment, and right now there's so much mud on the country roads to work - for me it's just bloody grim and generally not enjoyable.

A lorry turned over on the A14 yesterday and it took me an extra fourty minutes to get home in my car. On the bike it would have barely cost me any extra time.

We have had a few dry weekends though and I've managed to get some decent rides in. Hopefully we'll get a few dry days over the Christmas break...

It takes a certain stubborn-ness to continue riding a bike through winter mud/grease/leaves/salt I must admit, but I really really hate queuing in the car. I've only got another four days attendance left in 2018 though so I'll persevere for now.
