Coastie races sound like fun. Outrun?
Haha!
Just the same sort of stuff we all did when young before speeding and traffic laws were invented :)

Test the cornering/acceleration/braking abilities of your hot hatch/coupe TO THE MAX eventually ending up at the beach

Nice pics 8-)

(Although I got a shiver seeing the back end of the Strada - the screws for the rear lights were in the units, so you had amber topped ones at the indicator, red ones at the brake lights, clear at reversing lights etc. Steel screws but with the tops all moulded in coloured break-oh-lite - would crack on sight of an approaching screwdriver, and broke into twentington millionty pieces upon application of more than 0.00001 lbs.ft of torque. 😟

Deltas had the same moulded plastic capped screws for the rear lights and front indicators.

I keep looking at HF turbos, which also look great on the 15in integrale wheels, but as fun as I imagine they are I can't help but think I'd be dissapointed having owned a proper integrale, so after a few tweaks the mito is fulfilling my turbocharged fwd hatchback needs.

Funnily enough, that was my friend’s 8v Integrale in the pic above. I’ll look out pics of his HF Turbo. He didn’t have much luck with his Integrale which annoyed him as it was the logical progression from his HF Turbo
He went through a lot of Italian cars but a few of them really did live up to internet legend for electrics and mechanical surprises. When he got ones that worked they were great.

Passed a new and very very lovely Navy Blue Mclaren GT on the A11 this afternoon, sadly camera phone decide having my windscreen wipers in focus was better than the Macca

Was a good spotting drive as an Osprey flew overheard as I passed Mildenhall too.

Are you sure it's an Integrale ? It doesn't look like it has any flare to the arch but does have the twin pipes like the HF 4wd had.

I've mentioned him before but a good friend had dozens of Italian stuff by his early 20's and had a similar experience with going from a HF Martini Turbo to an 8v Integrale. It never felt any quicker and was always broke despite having thousands spent on it and this was early to mid 90s.

Probably 110 camera not the best definition :P - they don’t ‘show’ that much from the rear straight on view- certainly not like the last of the line Integrales with the extra wide arches

I’ll try and find a better pic of it - I think I gave him a lot of the good pics of it

He nearly got a Martini HFT but missed out
What I remember about the HF was the really skinny tyres - even back then - for a 140bhp hatch. Thinner than a Mk2 RS2000

Your friend sounds similar to ours - he got talked into ( by the local Alfa Romeo owners club guy ) buying an Alfa 1300GT Junior with the twin carbed twin cam and supposedly enough poke to show our Escorts the way home.
It was a nice little car but he was gutted to find it couldn’t get away from a Mk1 1300GT Escort with a boggo Xflow in. He should have got the 2-litre really but I think he was set on proving the Italian twink was the match of an old Pinto

The HF Turbo was my fave though - more poke than the Strada Abarth too

Not a bad price
They seem a lot cheaper than an Abarth is now

Under the radar hot hatch 8-)

A strange entry in the spotted thread, but it's quite a normal thing, just friction from the thick gear oil being enough to drag the wheel round.

Going past my office. Annoyingly I know the GTA rip-off version's name more accurately than I do the proper Merc name; AMG GT? [Checked now, AMG GT R apparently - ideal for driving round the centre of Birmingham...]
