Ok so they’ve just bought a bunch of kits from China which may or may not work accurately so they need to test them first

Any of you cvnts volunteer? I'd really have liked to but can't :(

I see a 21yo has died in the last 24hrs - supposedly no underlying health conditions although presumably that really means is no known underlying conditions.

I'm still working and am supposed to be self-isolating for 12 weeks thanks to the diabeetus. Plus I don't want to ;)

The job has been given a special sign off as its for a water company. I’ve not been given a white glove and letter so I can slap any policeman who dares stop me from my important work.

Gutted.

Gross. It's then subject to normal tax and NI.

Well, it took a couple of seconds to find it quoted here in a BBC article:
The wages cover, which relates to gross pay, will be backdated to the start of March and last for three months, but Mr Sunak said he would extend the scheme for longer "if necessary".

Yes. All signed up last night, but nothing so far apart from a validation email.

Work has ceased as all of my customers are operating a zero spend policy, so I'm thinking of taking a supermarket delivery job. I've never drawn a penny from the government for being out of work since I left school and I'm loathed to start now.
Cheers.

I’d have signed up for supermarket deliveries to just get out and about. Couldn’t do the phone call stuff though.

Seriously considering. I'm working until the end of the month (next Tues) but then I'm at a loose end.

As long as there's minimal contact with people (pretty much the whole point of everything right now), pootling about delivering stuff sounds like a perfectly pleasant way of using my spare time.

Employees get 80% of their salaries
Self-employed currently under review and will probably get something beyond UC

What about the zero-hours people (especially in retail and hospitality), who've simply had their hours cut to nothing? They all seem to be getting FA, but I haven't heard anyone raising petitions etc as has been the case with the self employed ones
Also as I understand if you have a mortgage you can get a 3 month holiday? What about renters?

In Aus, so far all they've done is to allow you to access your pension early
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

I appreciate the sentiment but it’s your money. It’s not like you haven’t paid into the system for a couple of decades and are sponging. It’s your fucking money.

People seem to be getting increasingly judgemental with regard to the actions of others. Quite irrationally so.

A lot of landscapers have just shut down. This is sensible due to the fact that they work in teams and around private residences.

Due to the fact that i've been practicing social isolation since leaving school, I work alone. Today I'll be visiting a converted Georgian manor house with 11 acres of garden which I've been maintaining for around 15 years now. I'll not be coming into contact with anyone at all. I have everything I need to keep working, I don't need to visit suppliers. I wear nitrile gloves whist getting fuel etc. My clients will be hugely gratified to see things being done. For doing this (according to some in my line of work) I'm letting the country down and I should be forcibly ordered to cease and desist. Apparently my actions right now will be remembered. I hope they will be by my customers.

I took on a little job in recently. Looking after the garden in a large house that's currently unoccupied. I visited yesterday. The old lady next door complained to the owner and he's asked me not to attend anymore. I asked him why he didn't just tell her to mind her own business. He replied that he just didn't want any trouble.

I'll keep going until ordered to do otherwise. The alternative of letting all my sites go to shit, sit at home doing fuck all for no good reason and try and get the several thousand a month I need from the state really has limited appeal to me for some reason.

I hope you all have a good day.

I appreciate that, but I'd still rather not if I can help it. That said, this morning I am swaying towards staying in and keeping away from it all.
Cheers.

Cunts round here complained about the council mowing the grass. The bloke’s sat in a tractor on his own, where’s the problem? I bet those complaining are the ones not isolating properly anyway.

That, I’ve never understood the mindset some people have to government assistance. We all pay into this social fund but no one is allowed to touch it. If you don’t work you’re a scrounger and if you do work there’s an embarrassment attached to it.

It’s there to help, they don’t make it easy to access in the first place so if you need it and it’s available take it.
