Looks like the place has been hit by artillery!

Just went for a quick drive and I’ve never seen so many cars with punctures and people stopping to put spare wheels on!

My other half wondered if she should go to the supermarket for supplies at about 8pm last night. I just have a massive eye roll…

Pretty soggy thismorning, water just running straight off the fields, seen deep water in places I’ve never seen. Would have been ok in a car if sensible but having a higher suv meant no worries at all.

Nowhere near as bad on the way home, barely any wind so no debris that I noticed other than the odd undertray and arch liner in the verges where some of the deeper water had been.

Our works basement does that all the time, goes into a Channel and gets pumped away. I’m not convinced it’s correct but boss reckons it’s been confirmed ok 🤷‍♂️

That’s actually the cavity wall which has filled with water as the other side of that wall is clear of debris and has no water behind it. I think the damp membrane on the back wall of the garage has failed where it adjoins an earth bank and filled all the internal cavity up.

It'll be no big deal to some of you perhaps, but this is awesome (click on pics for more info);

It's looking like a clear night all the way through, I might have to go for a drive.

The shortest day has been and gone, it's now winter, there's an 88% full moon shining through the window at the moment (and as I typed the second m clouds came across and covered it...), and while there have been a couple of colourful sunsets lately I haven't seen anything like this even though it was fairly nearby;

There was a moon halo last night, no idea if it’s rare.

8-) I hadn't heard of them before so had a google; they're a very rare sight in the UK so that's probably why I didn't know about them.

@Mito Man ; I think moon halos are in the not common but not extremely rare category. A good sight, albeit one I didn't see here.

There was a strange red tinge over Sheffield as I was driving up the M1 yesterday afternoon. Quite eerie, like I had tinted glasses on.

Carnage on the roads last night/this morning - loads of trees down.

This tree is sat on our electricity cable (we still have power somehow!) they cleared the road quickly, but the top bit is still there.

Severe Flooding of the River Ouse here in Newport Pagnell - The delay between rain and river rising is typically 48 hours but as everywhere is saturated, it's almost immediate at the moment.

Lots of local complaints about the council's not being permitted to dredge and clear the river.
