RIP Henry
I'm sorry to hear that
It's clear how happy he was with you, and you he with the family gathering.
R.i.p. Henry
(Apologies, I've only just seen the thread).

Our special boy, Coco passed yesterday and man, this is going to be hard.
RIP. Dogs don't live long enough. Can't believe I won't hear him trotting around anymore.
Cheeky Coco- had he just nicked that spot when you stood up?
I'll +1 mik's comments and add that they always seem to over return what we give them, even something like a look or "hello!", so we always feel we owe them, but you couldn't have got a pic like that if he hadn't felt utterly safe and content.

Thanks mate. It's been a rough, horrible weekend without him.
He was always smiling! He was a happy dog and had his 'happy face' on all the time..
He will be sorely missed. At least he didn't have to endure prolonged suffering and decline. It was a short, sharp illness.. I hope I go out that way!

The rescue place got in touch to see if we were interested in rehoming another dog and, well, meet Pixie.

She’s got a very sweet face, her eyes are almost hypnotic. Keep good track of the biscuits and worry if they go down faster than usual

"No, you're wrong, you haven't just fed me. I am starving pup."
How old is she? There are a couple I know at a local park, one is I think fourteen , the other eighteen, both will happily play as if their age is in months

Unsure, we think she's around 5. Chico was 15 and would still have his mad half hours the week we lost him.

Had missy at the vets today. She was bouncing around like an idiot and slipped on her bed, went flying and fell, did the greyhound scream of death (look it up if you’ve not heard it!!) holding her paw in the air. Booked in for xray on Friday.
The markup on medication from vets never ceases to amaze me. Missys bottle of metacam has a markup of 540%

Despite cutting missy’s treats right down as she’d put on a couple of kilos- when we had her in she was 34kg at her last appointment in July. She was heavier again at her vaccinations the other day, now clocking in at 36kg, when she should be around 32kg. Vets recommended we check her thyroid levels, apparently greyhounds don’t have a particularly active thyroid so she might need a bit of help

I always kinda imagined greyhounds would weigh like 2kg. In a coat.

They’re deceptive, basically pure muscle. A big male greyhound can be around 40kg. Does give you the problem of when they gain a bit of weight it adds up quite quickly
A list of the universes strongest gravitational forces will include a greyhound that doesn’t want to move- despite their size their strength is quite something. If you play tuggy games with them it’s their jaw that generally lets them down, but if they get a good grip they’ll drag you allover
