The Al Murray effect
Is that where you use satire to make a point and find your audience is people agreeing with it unironically?
That’s the one

That was the one thing which rather tainted the Jerry Sadowitz show I went to - it was probably only 10% of the audience who didn't get that it was an act but they were somewhat noisy.

His chat with JK Rowling must’ve went well.

Just to save yous, trans people already have the right to use the facilities matching their transitioned gender. He’ll have to go to court to change it.

That will get a few hundred people at a Bedford school voting Labour. My friends 15 year old won’t use the non gender toilets at school since they changed it.
If people need a space then I don’t see why they can’t use disabled or similar. It’s definitely not fair on women and especially not fair on young girls.
Starmer gets a bit of respect for that.

It just means that they’ve started living publicly as their trans identity. It usually coincides with them starting hormone treatments and I guess the ultimate end will be surgical gender reassignment.
A lot of trans people don’t go that far though.

That’s fine mate, I’m not really up for defending trans people to a bunch of middle aged dudes on a car forum again anyway
Just posted that as it was quite a coincidence that he’s suddenly so firm on it after him and Wes Streeting were cosying up to Rowling.

It’s about men using women’s toilets, it’s the same thing.
If someone is obviously trans and it makes women uncomfortable then it’s an issue.
Whether it’s insulting to have Trans people using the disabled toilets or whatever is needed I don’t know. Making any woman or girl feel uncomfortable isn’t the answer.

At the 1 gay wedding I went to they just had seperate festival toilets, so that’s not the answer, as everyone can agree they were all minging.
I’be a black gay friend too but I’m waiting till I’m closer to Gammon bingo for that one.

I just think some of the aspects of what we're discussing might look slightly different through a parent's eyes, that's all.
But to be honest, I can't really say because I was a parent before Gender Identity really became a thing

I think you mean the confected controversy about gender identity became a thing. There have been people living outside the cis male/female binary since ancient history.
I’m more concerned for the trans kids killing themselves because they can’t access treatment tbh, 16 kids have killed themselves since treatment options were taken away.
