Ah ! So my question yesterday about going out in the garden, which was pooh-poohed, was valid. The wording of this piece of advice is quite clear that “at home” means “indoors”.Mito Man wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:48 pm NHS Coronavirus Service: We have identified that you're someone at risk of severe illness if you catch Coronavirus. You can open a window but do not leave your home, and stay 3 steps away from others indoors. Wash your hands more often, for at least 20 seconds.

Are we all missing the point that jobbos single daily form of exercise was lifting a set of wheels into the back of his car and he just happened to have to drive some distance for this exercise routine?
Cheers, Harry

I expect It’s generalised too, to stop people taking the piss. If you tell people they can go out in their garden you’ll end up people out in communal gardens and having parties across the fence, like the morons who were told they can go to a park over the weekend and went in their thousands.

I can’t tell if Rich B is being serious or not, I thought he was taking the piss. But labelling people more at risk of COVID19 as ” special wooden spoon window lickers” just doesn’t have a funny side. Rich, if you are being serious, please direct some of it this way.Mito Man wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:48 pm The special wooden spoon window lickers get this one:

It's been a couple of days and we are turning on each other
Re: Coronavirus
We were doing that long before covid.
I'm really trying to limit social and news media now, this shit is getting me down. Someone let me know when it's all over!

Re: Coronavirus
It’s still very generalised but you can see why they have to assume the worst case scenario when sending a message to 1.5 million people. When I had chemo I was told to avoid the garden because falling over and getting a cut or getting poked by a thorn = sepsis.NotoriousREV wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 9:19 pmOnly if you’re in the immunocompromised group like Mito.Sundayjumper wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 9:11 pmAh ! Not washing your hands and touching your mouth was also an easy way to get sepsis.
So that text is being sent to people who are severely neutropenic as well as people who are less compromised.
I feel safe walking across the garden to the goats or the shed or working on my car as there’s no one around though.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Coronavirus
But there’s no need for the comment you originally made calling people “special wooden spoon window lickers“. You might qualify as someone at greater risk, great for you or whatever, but it’s not funny to those of us dealing with a missing lung, ongoing health issues after years and years of treatment and a number of family members also rendered at risk thanks to cancer and now we’re being told this virus could actually kill. So being labelled as a “special wooden spoon window lickers” just isn’t funny.Mito Man wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 9:45 pmIt’s still very generalised but you can see why they have to assume the worst case scenario when sending a message to 1.5 million people. My own personal special wooden spoon window licker still hasn't had her message. I suspect the spanners at the GP are to blame - when they phone every winter about the flu jab they only refer to her asthma. She has to remind them about the extra kidney
