Just watched that. Something very appealing about doing a Caterham-style DIY build with a massive pile of new parts to the exact spec you want.

Shell cost doesn’t seem unreasonable compared to a proper restoration of an original one - I guess it’s down to how bothered you are about keeping an old plate.

Historic rally/racing has a surprisingly big following and relatively cheap Motorsport hence the value in restoring old VINs lol

Yes.

Seems to be a thing Bonnet stripe is even worse.

Bet there's a stripe on the underside too, so he can look cool if the worst happens on a track day.

I like/don’t mind stripes when they are standard fit OEM (987 Cayman R / Spyder, 911R, 997 Sport Classic etc), but I wouldn’t spec them if they’re options.

Seems popular with the GT4 crowd and the 991 GT3 crowd (with the massive ‘Porsche’ decal on the rear wing). Why? Not for me.

Amazingly Porsche will leave them off for you at no cost if you wish.

i can handle the rear wing ones, it's the lame side ones that just look like they're a generic "Porsche style decal" off eBay because someone saw a Singer with stripes so thought they'd suit a 991.

Had a scout around for an i8 after seeing Samcrac's stuff (and Rich, before).

This M5 linked below is rather curious. So windows smashed, idrive, headunit, screen and gear selector stolen but its written off the car? Needs a new loom too but still...

Yeah they won’t have been removed without serious other damage.. all the trims and possibly dash will have been damaged..
Could be ok, could be a nightmare..

I still want a 2.5-16, in smoke silver. Would complement the GT3 quite well

I love the 2.5-16V too. First proper performance car I ever drove.
