Rear springs done, piece of cake, loads easier than the fronts. Sits quite nicely, doesn’t look obviously lowered but definitely looks a bit less grandad.

I've done something I never thought I'd do, sold the Volvo 
I'll be using my dads 3008 for the next few months at least as he won't be allowed to drive for the foreseeable future after he gets back from an operation, so I sold the Volvo to make room.
Its been a great car, had it for nearly 5 years, other than a steering rack which leaked and was replaced last month its never failed me once, and I've covered 50000 miles since I've had it so I really can't complain.
Sold it for £700 more than i paid for it, I'm not going to add up what I've spent on it though
So I'm finally replacing the 308, just need to find something now, I've narrowed it down to a XC60, V60/S60, a E350/350CDI, or a Jag of some sort.

Well, were pretty sure once he can drive again, knowing my Dad, he will want a new car. He wants an X5 for some reason, to do 3 miles in 3 times a week to take my mum to work
So what will happen is, we will end up keeping the 3008, a bit like when he decided he didn't want the 308, and we ended up with that.
And if he doesn't, and he wants it back, it gives me an excuse to buy another car, which is always fun.

Didn't have too much time to work on the 928 this weekend, so decided to give the seats a bit of TLC. Once I started I realised that they're not worth spending a huge amount of time on. The driver's seat bolster is worn through and some of the piping has come off and the rest of the leather is quite cracked. Someone at Strasse recommended a trimmer to re-do the leather on the gearshift and I took a look at some of their work on-line and it's amazing. My wife said "You might as well save up and get them to completely redo the interior", so I'm kind of convinced that's the direction I'm going to go in. The good news is it'll be the very last thing I get done after the other electrical & HVAC issues. I decided to take it out for a short drive, and it made me realise why I love the car so much and why it deserves doing properly.

A change of plans means no house move for 12 months. Also, the car market has been somewhat bouyant. Therefore, I didn't need to sell the Evora 
I'm tempted to run something mad for 12 months, but concerned I don't want to dent the house fund too much. What's the prediction for the car market? Any seers around? Anyone want to consult the cards?
I expected the arse end to fall out and I'd be picking up a 964 for £5 and some M&Ms by now, so I can't be trusted to make predictions.

Almost managed to go a whole year without getting pulled over by plod until this evening. I gunned it through an amber light leaving Hyde Park which also broke the speed limit then instantly had 2 police bikes pull me over.
Nice chaps, told me that we’ve all done it and to not do it again and just told me I’m free to go after checking the car is insured.
He did make an odd comment to keep an eye on my mirrors more. I didn’t ask him to elaborate but it was strange as that section of Hyde Park is riddled with aggressive speed bumps which I take really slowly to not damage the car so I was looking in my rear view each time to make sure I wasn’t holding the black cab up too much behind me - who was probably obscuring the 2 bikes behind it.
Maybe a bit of tongue in cheek comment to check better that there aren’t cops behind before doing that next time

I haven't been pulled over by the police since I was about 22 (tax disk had expired). Wtf are you doing to get it so regularly?!

Think I've been pulled over once in 17 years (touch wood) for cutting it too fine through a red light. Although as an 18 year old I did have a polite discussion through the window with an unmarked police car next to me who told me to watch my speed... Oh and I got pulled by the Gendarmes in northern France for speeding, so technically three run-ins in total I guess.
I expect the amount of police cars floating around in South London looking for people driving badly is lower than Knightsbridge, however. They're mainly concerned with the more stabby/muggy kind of offences
