Our local one has ruined alignment on 2 of our cars, when they weren't even in for that work. Refused point blank to accept that the steering wheel was straight when it went in, lied that they haven't touched anything that would affect alignment, and made out that the KDS system is infallible. I ended up taking it back to the Infinity dealership round the corner that had sorted it for me when I first got it, they were actually able to use their Hunter system properly. I didn't even bother arguing the 2nd time - just took it straight to Infinity again.

I hate that sort of bullshit. We're the dealer so we're correct and nothing you, the plebey public can say will change that. Arrogant cocks!

And they're the best of the 3 local dealerships

Ordered a new clock for the 928. The original one looks like a Rorschach test (they all do that eventually). I was tempted to get an analogue one, but they're hideously expensive and it originally came with an LCD. £22. I shall fit it whilst I've got the centre console out fixing the HVAC issues.

It's a 1980's LCD (1987 to be precise). I doubt many LCDs of that vintage will still be intact. I'd seen something over on the Rennlist forums that it was also a 968/944 issue.

Discovery is getting picked up this weekend 😔

Thinking of looking for an import 5.0 Disco 4 to replace that and the 308, reliable engine and gearbox, cheaper tax i believe, oh, and the noise 😎

They seem to be reasonably priced as well!

?? Did I miss an update ?

5.0 Disco sounds good though. Got links to examples ? I can’t see any on AT.

Yeah, my dad is off for a very big operation, and can't drive for the foreseeable, so I'm having his 3008, but there's only room for 3 cars on my drive 😔

So the Disco is off to Scotland on Saturday sadly.

But I like it, and I don't like our 308, so I reckon that can be on its way as well now, and I'll wait for a decent 5.0 to come up. Or look at getting one imported myself.

I'd get a Range Rover Sport, but all the 4.2 SC ones have ACE which is the most unreliable system the world has ever seen.

Last one I saw was on ebay a couple of weeks ago for 13500, I think the only one on there now is 22k, which is very optimistic!

I picked up a set of 15in wheels for the iQ at the weekend - the original 16's use a bit of an odd tyre size and I could only find either shit or expensive tyres for them. Three of the four tyres were the original factory fitted Bridgestones so were 10+ years old and had started to crack, so although they had plenty of tread they needed to go.

I was going to go for some winters but decided I CBA changing them over twice a year (and storing them) so I went for some Continental AllSeasonContacts, which won an AutoExpress test recently.

I'm quite pleased with the look of them.

No interesting car updates :(

As friday nights entertainment is somewhat limited I actually took the mini out to give it air and test its newly rattle free interior. This then resulted in a massive blast into derbyshire on the quiet roads. It has spot lights on the front and I could really do with getting higher power bulbs altho they are quite adequate.

Also ordered some none eu logo numberplates

I would still like one of those. The bills tho v enjoyment/fear put me off. Still, you only live once.

With the ol' manual tyre changer ? Doing a couple, fine, but eight of them back to back would leave me unable to move for the rest of the week !

Maybe not 8 in one hit one after the other

Have been on the lookout for a spare set of wheels for both main cars for ages but can’t find anything suitable.

Ordered 4 new BF Goodrich KM3 tyres for the Landy today.

I shall be living on soup for the rest of the month.

Dave!

Managed to dodge the rain showers and get two of my winters fitted.

A bit gutted, I was really hoping I’d be able to squeeze the MOs off the Lancia onto the mito given how inboard the standard wheels fit. Unfortunately stupid offset and extra girth means they’re about 10mm off being able to get them on. Would be a piece of cake to pull the arches slightly and make them work with a smaller tyre but it’s not really something I want to get into in this car.

Had a bit of a wobble with the tyres I chose too. Standard are 215 45 17, and for a winter tyre I went a tiny bit skinner and a tiny bit taller with a 205 50, forgetting that the standard size already come very close to the back of the rear arch liner as the turbo versions use a taller tyre than the non turbots ( 215 40 17 ).

Thankfully they fit fine and actually think the tyre sits on the rim better and the fraction of extra sidewall helps visually fill out the big arches a bit better.

I’m actually having a bit of a wheel crisis at the moment.

My MOs don’t fit, I can’t find another set of standard wheels in acceptable condition which aren’t 300 miles away with a seller who won’t post, can’t find any sensibly priced aftermarket ones I like.

Can’t find a set of 17in clk wheels which aren’t hideous, can’t find another pair of fronts to match the current set so I can run the same size winter tyres and same size wheels all round.

Can’t decide what I want to put on the Sud either, or even what size I think would work best.
