Watched the Mike Musto review yesterday and laughed when I realised they’ve even used the BMW interior. I’m sure it’s a nice car, but meh.

Harris was pretty scathing on twitter yesterday, calling it lazy.
I saw someone on the internet state as fact that the BMW 1 and 2 series were just test platforms for this car. Actual LOL.
I approve of the engine - the rest you can keep.

Sure it’s lazy but it’s still better than any Toyota interior so I don’t see what people are complaining about. I watched some of De Morons video on it - found it quite interesting that the Supra has less power and space for struts, additional air intakes, a spoiler etc all reserved for the tuning companies. I reckon that’s bullshit and there’s a performance clause in the contract not allowing the Toyota to outperform the BMW for some time
period. It’s definitely half baked in it’s current state.

The previous Z4 MCoupe was quite popular and this is fundamentally a rebadged update of that, but with better looks. I think it's great and it had me contemplating getting one.

Yes, saw that.
I agree with him (having not yet watched or read any reviews), but I still like the look and would prefer the Supra to the Z4.
Probably a missed opportunity for Toyota though. Are they that hard up they had to cooperate with BMW?

Another project that teased a stunning concept, followed by handsome prototypes then released as a minger.

Company attempts to satisfy a dwindling market segment by pairing up with another major OEM and produce something inevitably compromised when compared to their back catalogue. Then gets slammed by people many of whom could never afford the £50k asking anyway.
Personally I love the look of it, and applaud them for at least trying.

I'm with Porter and SD on this one.
Everyone goes on about how they''d love it to be a pure Toyota (and probably a manual too) but then no-one would ever buy one because in the real world so many people prefer an automatic and a decent interior. And the BMW isn't perfect but it's made the market accessible to Toyota, whereas without them they probably wouldn't have bothered.

People have already started dropping 2JZs in them so there will be some proper ones going around .

Is this going to be like when everyone wondered why lotus had developed the vx220 as it turned out better than the S1 Elise then the S2 Elise came out and we all realised it had been free development for that?

Really? I had no idea they'd started customer deliveries. The embargo on driving impressions was until a day or so ago.

Yeah a D1GP driver got a shell to build his new car from, it's been running since March. It's caught fire a few times though so still a work in progress .

Ah, I forgot, no one must ever criticise anything they can't afford.

It's more a reminder of his own vast wealth and success probably - just ignore him.
