Yeah it did seem a decent atmosphere. 600 people!
And all this without putting them in sport mode. Truly mentalGavster wrote: Sun May 19, 2024 7:05 pm I watched that yesterday! Firstly it’s an amazing run to casually do sub-3 hour for a laugh. Secondly he is utterly mental for not having trained further than 10miles in the Crocs![]()
Nice. I've started doing our local one again with my 8 year old boy. I last did it when I was pushing his older sister around in a running buggy.
My local MP turns up to parkrun in running gear, says "it's a lovely day for it" and buggers off home running maybe half a lap.240PP wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:25 am He also recruited the local MP to run it with us (whose primary motive was photos for his insta/FB, fair enough I guess)
Yup, the middle one and me are frequent users of our junior park run. Got a fair few kids from our school going, so it works socially too.
My daughter did the Junior one a few times before losing interest. My son's gone straight to 5kDeskJockey wrote: Mon May 20, 2024 1:26 pmYup, the middle one and me are frequent users of our junior park run. Got a fair few kids from our school going, so it works socially too.

Ours turned up on a Brompton, did a fucking annoyingly fast time, waved a bit then went home.Jimmy Choo wrote: Mon May 20, 2024 11:49 amMy local MP turns up to parkrun in running gear, says "it's a lovely day for it" and buggers off home running maybe half a lap.240PP wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:25 am He also recruited the local MP to run it with us (whose primary motive was photos for his insta/FB, fair enough I guess)

He’s getting some pace as well. PB so far is 30m45. I reckoned a month or so ago that he’ll be under 30 mins by the end of this year. I think I’ll revise that to some time over summer. Amazing given he’s the shortest in his class at 4’, running next to me who is 6’3!.

When you get overtaken by someone who earns pocket money and knows about Pokémon, it’s quite emasculating
